A teenage cyclist has just careered into my car. I was pulling out of the local supermarket car park about to turn left on to the street when the guy riding on the footpath from the left hit my car. I was pulling out slowly looking left and right when he came out of nowhere.

Got out to check if he was ok, said he was ok, damage to his front wheel, some damage to my car front left.

Should I have got his details? Can I claim insurance on this?

Mother is in a bit of shock.

Care to share your recipe?

Wish I could. Each is unique.Sometimes fantastic but I cant recreate it.
But basically I start with a curry base-usually a Blue elephant packet that I pick up in BKK when there. Then I usually add other spices that we have that are getting near their use by date so very variable.Always add some extra hot chilli.
Generally will have some meat, occasionally just veggies.veggies depend on whether we have some that need using up but will always have onions, capsicum and often potatoes-usually a couple of minutes in the microwave with a little water.I find that way they take up all the flavours.Carrots and mushrooms are often what we have as excess produce.
As Thai curries virtually always done with coconut milk.Often finished off with a handful of peanuts or cashews.
They freeze well.

Another staple is my spicy wallaby/kangaroo Bolognese sauce.Wallaby mince if in Tassie, kangaroo on the mainland.absolutely no fat so have to use a little oil in pan to brown the mince.add a bottle of a commercial bolognese sauce,a bit of hot chilli sauce and again not adverse to adding onions, carrot or tomatoes if we have an excess.
This also freezes well.

Mal I was disappointed that the fiscal fiends at the ATO left you in a hold hell hole.
That reminds me that I called from London to Qantas as a Platinum I was put into hold hell hole so I got my Platinum One partner to call and the line was answered on the first ring so I hung up on the other call.
Mal maybe we should upgrade you to Platinum One status at the ATO.

I called back, and like clockwork the staffer claimed my background noise was too loud. (I was on a quiet bus btw). I mentioned I will call back later.

The headsets they issue ato staff are cough. I had the same issue last year (admittedly I was in a pub at the time)

Call back this morning UK time and the wait was varying between 10 and 14 mins. Wasn't going to have stable connection for those amounts of time, so called back later. (7.10pm syd). Can't assist as they are only answering phones and I have to call back on Monday.

Had a meeting today at one of the embassies here in BKK. Caught cab from BKK, as I flew in from up north, and gave the address at the taxi rank, which was written in Thai.

Most bizarre cab ride ever - the door was opened for me, I was asked on several occasions if the aircon was ok, and we actually (kind of) kept under 100kph.

Amazing what powers a simple address has. ;)

There is an Australian International 20/20 match in Adelaide on Wednesday. Hmmm. The Aussies that we want to see are playing a test match in Dubai.

Sacre blue! A Sir Don Bradman restaurant in Qld! Uncle Don would turn in his grave. ;)

I'm meant to be going to the G on Friday. But without Maxwell and Warner I am reconsidering.

I helped remove a tree that partially blocked a major road & I still got to work on time!

My orange wet weather jacket that I keep in the back of my car certainly came in handy again!

It's been a wild day alright. I hung out some washing and went to the shops for twenty minutes (37 C when I left). Came back and had to rush outside to get it due to heavy rain starting. Luckily it was dry and and I drafted the mini-me's out to help me.

Very cold this morning in Adelaide. 30 in 2 days time.

Mighty fine day on the Goldy although a tad windy.

We had 24 degrees yesterday for Halloween .... quite abnormal for London at this time of year!
