See a private rheumatologist rather than a hospital clinic possibly?
Yes I did think about that option.

One reason is they are way too expensive. I do know from experience. The other reason is I am not convinved they are there 100% for me. Why?

I am in extreme pain. Chronic pain. Many years ago I went to a rheumatologist. There are no signs of wear and tear in the x-rays. No inflammatory markers present in the blood. Yet I have severe inflammation everywhere. Could not get me onto any of the new biologics but wanted me to keep seeing him. Waste of time. I don't need to see a specialist every 3-6 months so he can ask me how I am and give me a new appointment.

From the hospital system I have been on biologics for the past 4 years. The pain is still there but better than before. Some days are worse than others. I take Neurofen plus almost daily but it does not help much. Naprosyn helps occassionally but I like to leave that for my not so good days. Panadeine Forte is also good for those days but I am controlling its use.

This article popped up in my Facebook News Feed. Most are claiming, "finally, a judge with some backbone".
What do you think?

So a snivelling pen pusher has betrayed multiple "victims of crime" and single-handedly relegated them to "victims of MULTIPLE crimes" when they didn't deserve to be a "victim" to start with!

I sometimes despair at the self centeredness of our society. 7 years is a long time, but given the callous and premeditated crime the person committed and the disheartening sense of betrayal the real victims must feel, I think it's most definitely warranted.

Hi JohnK
I think I may have posted something earlier about diet and natural alternatives.
Turmeric is reputed to help with inflammation among other ailments. Please make your own investigation. Organic product is available at my local health food shop for around $6.
Turmeric This web site can give some background. Inflammation is potentially very damaging. John.

Seems to me you don't value your own time and well being enough. Maybe invest some money into taking care of you?

In what way?

Specialists have been telling me the new biologics combined with Methotrexate are my only hope to counter my auto-immune disorders.

Are you saying there is a solution out there for my problems and I am ignoring it?

That you don't see a private specialist but are continuing in a public health system where you have to wait so long that you end up walking out without seeing them. So that's not good monitoring and keeping up to date.

I have an auto immune disease and my young niece has lupus. So I do understand these things. But we just stump up for the money and go private.

I was there for 2h 20m. Totally unacceptable to make someone wait that long.

If I decide to go back after the new year and they give me another 11:00am appointment I will turn up to appointment at 12:00-12:30pm.

Private rheumatologists did nothing for me. They did nothing for mum. And I am not sure why mum went back to her rheumatologist after 10 years absence.

I can be very stubborn.

Was told I cant take a cake to my kids school because not all parents could afford a cake for their kids birthday. I don't mind but it is a private school

Wait...what? huh?

Then again my wife is a teacher and a parent asked her to make sure they don't celebrate other kids birthdays as they don't believe in birthdays. That's fine, but now the child has to be taken out of class while they sing happy birthday etc

news article a few weeks ago about a school in Alaska (if i remember correctly) where the school doesn't identify kids by sex..just in case they have kids in the school who are confused by their sexuality

Reading one of the Paddington local papers the State Member was proud that he had tabled a petition calling for a ban on pet shops selling pets.
