Yes I did think about that option.See a private rheumatologist rather than a hospital clinic possibly?
One reason is they are way too expensive. I do know from experience. The other reason is I am not convinved they are there 100% for me. Why?
I am in extreme pain. Chronic pain. Many years ago I went to a rheumatologist. There are no signs of wear and tear in the x-rays. No inflammatory markers present in the blood. Yet I have severe inflammation everywhere. Could not get me onto any of the new biologics but wanted me to keep seeing him. Waste of time. I don't need to see a specialist every 3-6 months so he can ask me how I am and give me a new appointment.
From the hospital system I have been on biologics for the past 4 years. The pain is still there but better than before. Some days are worse than others. I take Neurofen plus almost daily but it does not help much. Naprosyn helps occassionally but I like to leave that for my not so good days. Panadeine Forte is also good for those days but I am controlling its use.
