Penegal, the White Knight, rides in on his trusty steed to save the day #hero #operationprojectrescue #thatswhytheypaymethebigbucks

I don't get paid enough for this rubbish...

PS.....what's project rescue, or should I know?

Think you will find its what he does.

"Project Rescue" or "Project Turnaround" is pretty self explanatory.

When a project goes off the rails or is significantly delayed, a team (usually made up of veteran PMs and/or consultants) is called in to get things back on track. We can behave like cowboys a bit, but the task is generally pretty challenging to get things back on track quickly and affordably.

It's not really what I am meant to do, but I do find myself doing this sort of work from time to time.

Penegal are you hot desking or is there nowhere for a shower and quick change of clothes?

Hot Desking. But there is always time for a quick shower and I keep a spare shirt in my "home" office.

Seems today is the day to discover I don't have a job next year...
Well that isn't nice, where is the sad smiley.

I'm not going to remind them, the longer is takes, the more money they owe me.

My worry with them they will date it any day they want and tell you they have given it to you already, so don't leave it too long.

Maybe ask for that reference now before things get messy.

I don't think I will leave the office today... probably be wearing the same shirt tomorrow.

#projectrescue

They don't make things easy for you, the only good thing is that you are trying to fix up the mess or the parts that are behind, best advice stay away from AFF.

Obviously they don't want you to enjoy Christmas.

I am currently spending a few days in Brisbane, only just remembered how humid this place is, looking forward to heading back to Perth on Wednesday.

Have been over for a doctor and dentist appointment both good, but one DR suggests don't drink alcohol, oops I may have had a few drinks with another AFFer this afternoon, my dad also turned 70 this week so a good enough reason to get on a plane, but hoping to avoid that Ex Jetstar bird that Qantas now like to use on BNE-PER runs, the ones with no IFE but the seat holder is there for it, surprised I didn't get an email about the Qantas and how good/bad they were this trip.

Usually rope my sisters into sorting it, or do things for them as an early xmas present while they visit (if that works) otherwise buy things online in AU and send that way!
I can suggest Peters of Kensington, on line and a store in - yep, Kensington, Sydney. They have a weekly specials newsletter, their range, prices and delivery are excellent. Navigating your way round the website and online ordering is pretty simple. Generally goods arrive in under five days, to the nearest post office. You should check for the Christmas deadlines which might be getting pretty close, I think Melbourne cuts off around the 12-13th.

It does. Down to about $300.

It has been changed in the last 12 months to be a massive fine if the driver is not nominated. This was because company registered cars were being used to avoid any demerit points. A financial incentive to dob in the driver. A good thing IMHO.
Well when my last little letter came the fine certainly caught MrMac's attention - I thought he was going to have a heart attack! It plunged down to about $300 once I nominated myself. Phew!

Reading one of the Paddington local papers the State Member was proud that he had tabled a petition calling for a ban on pet shops selling pets.

Unsure of the exact context here but I suspect the RSPCA might well be 100% behind an idea like that. Without checking I seem to recall that pet shops do not have a very good reputation, especially in the animal welfare industry. I think maybe they would prefer to them to simply sell accessories/food etc.

Booked a flight on Sri Lankan airlines website. I kept searching for booking using my surname and booking reference and flight was not found. Then I realised their website has the surname first. Aargh. No check done on credit card holder versus passenger name?

Have sent them an email. Hope they will change without fee.

Just make sure you go to Peters of Kensington & not Kens of Kensington. LOL.

One of my former indirect bosses went to the latter with a state government credit card if I remember the story & had to resign before he got sacked. Or was it that his driver was waiting in his government car while the MP was "shopping" under a red light?

Absolutely having a mare trying to update to snow leopard from 10.5.8 (yes I know I'm in the dark ages), so that I can upgrade further.
The system meets the requirements no problems there.
Go insert the installation DVD and it just spins. The DVD works on SWMBO Mac, but mine won't recognize it nor will it share DVD drives with the other Mac.

For something that promotes its ease of use, I am quickly getting frustrated.

Home at 2:45am... Not as bad as I initially thought :)

Time for a quick nap, then back to it.

How long ago? I booked three yesterday and they're all OK. Show up without issue so maybe they've addressed that somehow.

Can't say I know the song - barely know the band (I fear its a generational thing). Can you hum us a few bars ??

A stunning day in Adelaide today. Wish I could go to the Test match but sadly working as I offered to fill in weeks ago of course not knowing the events ahead.

My son who lives in Sydney also being a member had booked flights for the Test arriving Friday. He too is working and now can't come for the revised dates. Qantas wouldn't refund his fare (red) but would change the dates but he simply can't come at all.

MrP seems quite keen to attend. But not sure he is looking forward to today. He's not alone. Quite a few stressed people involved in the planning.

I guess these are the lyrics to which you are alluding:

"Its just one of those days
When you don't wanna wake up
Everything is coughked
Everybody sux
You don't really know why"

Talk to me offline if you want

First few bits of the lyrics probably says it all

Ouch that isn't the best,

For QF WP et al, best place for song lyrics is youtube, but you may have found it.

I did read somewhere that a good friend of flashware and myself will be in London for Christmas.

Some days are good other days aren't so good

I booked last night. The website has title, Family Name and then first name. Quite easy to make a mistake if you are rushing or not paying attention.

Reservations has replied to my email. They have put note in booking for check-in to fix boarding pass. Good result.
