Not looking forward to playing dodgems this weekend...

Avoid Greenhill Road. Last year a car was sitting at an intersection just near where we live (Devereaux Road for you Adelaideans) and the next thing it was surrounded at the front, back and sides by a bike team - the car literally disappeared from view.

I think one of the issues is that Adelaide in particular is not designed for bikes along the (almost) main roads in older suburbs. And the racing teams are pretty much used to doing things their way.

And just to do your head in JohnK - Mercury is about to go retorgrade:

Mercury is the messenger, and in this time, the delivery is warped or the message gets lost en route. Some people find that their computers go on the fritz or phone lines go down. If you're at all jittery about it, go ahead and back up your important files. A major cause of stress at Mercury retrograde is frustration from mishaps, things breaking down, computers going black

Oh not you too! Our EA is always talking about mercury, or is it mars? going retrograde. Guess I don't listen too well!

Did it have one of these stickers on it?

Thankfully that doesn't appear to be on the way to the Barossa

We're heading out to the Barossa both Friday and Saturday... I don't like bikes at the best of times so this may not help my feelings. A bit like my dislike of Camrys, which was severely exacerbated by last weeks hit and run on my car

I'm going to laugh if we're given a Camry :p

With United and AA both having hackers going for joy rides on someone's points I do suggest you always keep your boarding passes secure and not in the seat pocket.

Timely warning. Doubly so as just today I warned someone against publishing their frequent flyer number of Facebook in public due to the risk of account hacking. They seem to have turned around and accused me of hacking their account. <redacted>

Actually it is Australian Eastern Daylight Savings time, not Sydney time. Sydney is not Australia!

Actually Sydney, along with Brisbane, Melbourne and many other places, is Australia. You probably mean Australia is more than Sydney.

Ok that explains this morning but what about the rest of the conspiracies in my life?

And pushka that is an attempt at another joke!

It's amazing what I can find out if I'm able to read the intranet for myself & not try to read it over my manager's shoulder. It's also amazing what you can read if you read something correctly & not what you want to read into it.

In short, there is nothing in the relevant section of the policy that says that a person needs to state a reason & needs give evidence to do part time work.

It does say that proof is required if I am applying for long term carers leave, which is not what I am doing. In that section, all I need is a medical certificate from the treating doctor which details the name of the person being cared for, my relationship with them, time period & if they agree that the person needs my support. There's no need to list the conditions according to this policy.

My application is in as of yesterday & according to the policy, I must have an answer in writing within 21 days.

With this information behind me, I am more confident than I was when I posed the question. Thanks to all here who contributed.

Let's see what happens now.

I think Aurions are the latest giveaways.

They are in the Barossa on the 20th. And racing in the east end (Adelaide) on 18th.

And in between - anywhere they want to go. Green hill Road is a good training road as it goes into the hills.

That's THREE today! Onya JohnK. :D

Not many "out-there" things I get into, but Mercury Retro is one of them. Your EA would know that it's full on from next week.
