I know there are a few keen golfers on here. This is a great story about a local bloke who has no problem "shooting under his age"-worth reading even if you are not a golfer

Golfing legend Dicko keeps on swinging | Wauchope Gazette
For us youngsters, I just hope I can play into my 80's. For a while, I thought playing to your age on a single stableford basis was a good idea, then as I proceeded through my mid to late 40's I realised that idea was impossible.

Birthdays are good for you. The more you have the longer you live.
Shamelessly stolen from an email this morning.

Well.... after 2 ambulance calls this week, the second on Thursday they gave me an injection to stop nausea so I could keep Endone down, but didn't take me to hospital, I think this gallstone? (still not diagnosed properly) issue is turning to jaundice (orange wee, yellowing skin). My doctor is not open this Saturday, which is not the norm. Mr Feezable is over at the beach and just now had a chat with one of the local ambos who has suggested that if I still feel I am jaundiced at midday to head over to John Hunter emergency rather than the Mater. I admit that I am becoming a bit frightened and very exhausted by this whole experience, the constant nagging pain that was unbearable for 5 hours on Thursday and feels like it could escalate again at any moment, topped off with only fruit and cups of tea since Tuesday.

A funny aside, when I was admitted to The Mater, they asked me if I was visiting from out of state - 8 years we have been in NSW and I have no medical history :)

Went out for a drink with workmates tonight. 2 pints of fortified beer (> 10%) and I'm feeling it. My head is like a military parade going on inside.

God I'm getting old......

Hmm, could I suggest you insist on more tests?

You need to get that checked out.
I disagree with the Ambo advice however and think it best if you go to the original treating hospital. That and the fact that the waiting time will likely be much less there as well IME.

I am booked in for an ultra sound, but the first available is Friday 23rd. The results from my first visit to the hospital definitely pointed to Gallstones. I am starting to think that the gallstone may have moved and be blocking the bile duct, but I am not sure how serious this is now or how long until it becomes serious or whether it can resolve on it's own. If it was a weekday I would go down to my GP, whom I think is a fantastic Dr, and see what she thinks, but being the weekend I am at a loss. I just had another sign of jaundice - very pale stool. Sorry to dump (pun intended) all this on AFF, but, I am such an introvert I don't want to talk to anyone outside my family and I just need to say these things to someone.

Feezable, I am not a big fan of getting advice of the net, only because of its lack of creditability, but I can assure you that the above advice is very much credible and should be followed.

Thank you PF, I respect you so very much from this forum. I will follow your advice and when Marcus gets back from the beach we will head over the Mater.

Our 13 year old is doing his Surf Rescue Certificate this morning - on dry land - beaches are closed again because of sharks. The thing that the news isn't reporting is that the Lifeguards keep finding dolphins washed up on the beach with very large bites taken out of them.

I wouldn't be waiting until the 23rd for the ultrasound - is that the hospital appointment?. I would go to any GP and get a referral for a ultrasound at a private radiology practice. A couple of $$$ for your health and peace of mind, IMO is well worth it.

When I made the appointment I didn't realise this was going to keep going. I thought I had had a one off attack and wasn't worried about the wait. It was a referral through my Dr, I'm not sure if it's public or private, I'm not concerned about the cost. I'm such a novice with this sort of thing, I was just going with the flow. The Dr did say that if I had to wait too long let her know and she would refer me to another radiologist, but I didn't know what 'too long' meant :)

That's the best thing to do. Hope you get it all sorted out and feel better soon.
