Don't you just hate it when the dipstick who had the hotel room before you set the alarm for OMG o'clock and didn't turn it off before he checked out :evil:

That has happened to us many times ! Now that is one of the first things I do - check the clock ! :-|

Or when your mother-in-law rings her daughter at midnight because she saw a missed call on her mobile - it was 2 days ago.:evil::evil: Woke us both up and neither of us were happy then, or this morning. She'd better bring a peace offering on Sunday.

For the first time for as long as I can remember I am struggling planning September trip to Thailand.

- Qantas cheapest but have to fly their A330
- Virgin next cheapest but VA codeshare on SQ could have issue selecting seats
- Singapore cheap flights don't earn miles
- Thai cheap flights don't earn miles
- Cathay relatively cheap flights, earn on Asia Miles, half earn on QFF but no earn on AA

I have even been thinking about Scoot.

You just need to decide whether you want the best miles earn or the cheaper price.

Cathay is the in-between option.

Karmichael Hunt - you idiot :-|
How to throw away a questionable career - ala Wendell Sailor. The Reds will be trying to distance themselves and in management crisis talks ATM about how to extract him from his contract. One game into the season...

[Long line of epithets that I can't repeat here] - but complete and utter tosser is probably the calmest and most readable of them all.

First thing I always check. Yep. Only happens once!

Well there have been plenty like him, and I'm sure he won't be the last. Too much money and free time is my take on it.

Me too, and it hasn't happened yet. Mostly it is turned off. Room service staff should have it on their checklist for when a guest checks out.

Now that is a great idea. I guess when you have to check out at 4am, or whacked from a 14 hour flight, the last thing you would think of is changing the alarm setting. Actually now you mention it.......oops.

I've never checked the alarm in any hotel room, and I think I've only had one go off. Don't most people use their phones these days?

Qantas is cheapest and there isn't a sale on at the moment.

Virgin is fine but I need to be able to select a seat. Chance of middle seat isn't worth any saving I can make.

I have even been looking at awards. No availability to BKK. The taxes to/from SIN are almost the cost of the purchased ticket and then need to get to CNX.

Ahh BIG Dell! Had fun one night at, I think it was called The Barracks then, in Paddington. Right after BIG dell punched in the window of a car in a road rage incident. A mate kept having chats with BIG Dell who was enjoying a quiet drink. We kept telling the mate Dell was going to smash him if the mate kept talking to him.

Just buy the QF ticket.

Trains not stopping at Milton. No announcements. Called Translink. No idea. Apparently some trains were made express because people at Milton don't need to go to airport. Walked to Roma St Station in pouring rain without umbrella. Charged $10 when I touched off at Milton. Now sitting in airtrain going nowhere.

And here is where I bite my tongue....

That's not good enough

I think given the weather, delays are pretty much to be expected and not worth getting stewed up about.
