The black thongs.
Yes, I own a pair of Havaianas -(purchased in Brazil :) ) but they are NEVER worn in public.

I've heard of toe socks, in fact I have a couple of pairs buried away somewhere, but I've never heard of toe shoes.

Vibram five fingers. Not sure if the climber or the runners started it, but Vibram are a big tech-rubber manufacturer. I probably have about 6 pairs of shoes with vibram soles.

It was ok, the guy carried the thongs when getting off the plane. Walked bare foot. So those thongs might never have been worn in public either. ;)

But to be fair, I think the guy might have had a serious illness - looked much like my dad did right before the end.

There was however a classic stale foot smell during the flight. I think it was the vibram's. It wasn't me because it was gone when driving home.

I work in an office without rubbish bins... apparently it reduces the amount of rubbish and encourages recycling.

NB - for those who take things literally there are rubbish bins, but only in the central services/kitchen area. (e.g. not on the floor or in individual's offices).

Ah, sounds like my former employer's office. Annoying but you get used to it.

Couldn't stop posting on AFF, so I've ticked over the milestone, and given up my old title in the process.

Still not happy to wear the new title, but what can I do.

Congratulations ... some posts are worth more than others ... some poster's posts generally have more content than others ... IMHO you score well on both counts. :D

BTW, you have over 2,400 posts in this thread alone ... and none of those counted to the 10,000 ...

I was overcharged the other day. Something called "House Vodka" for $9.80 was added to my bill, and I certainly would not order anything like that in a bar. I brought it to the duty manager's attention who was particularly useless. The duty manager could have solved the issue by pulling a 10-er out of the till or offering me a free drink, instead they decided to be a useless *&%%&*(.

The issue was that they run my credit card through BEFORE I had reviewed the bill, which is poor practice IMHO.

What do you do in these situations?

Dispute the charge? Write a letter?

Needless to say, I won't be going back there.

Had a hotel recently that presented my invoice, I gave them a credit card, and they gave me a receipt. Only when I looked at it later did I realise id been hit with a surcharge which was not on the invoice I approved, nor mentioned. Not quite the same but poor practice nontheless

My time in the west is over for now.

Made some very good friends during my time here.

Now at the airport, I did manage to get a good seat.

Furniture was collected Thursday, place was cleaned on Friday, dinner out with work colleagues last night, got a lift to the airport this morning.

I hope the carpet cleaner dropped off the key to the real estate agent.

Saddened to hear of Leonard Nimoy's passing.

But seriously impressed with the quality of tributes in the newspaper and online.

Certainly a wonderful barometer of how loved his work was.

LLAP

I ended up disputing the charge in a similar issue. I did go back to the bar with proof of being double charged and they didn't care, even telling me to just initiate chargeback. Was easily sorted via a CB!

I have banned my hubby's vibrams from the house, they smell terrible!!!
