Someone on one of my Facebook groups posted this today. It's a 1970's Pan Am First Class experience in LA.
The Pan Am Experience – Available only at Air Hollywood! | Air Hollywood

It looks like amazing fun, has anyone on here done it ?
I think I'm going to try and book for January.
I have long wondered why nobody has opened a First Class Cabin themed restaurant serving exact menus on operating flights - but first to admit zero hospitality trade experience so prolly not viable.

PF check the chick hangin' onto a dart - hmmm ....... Interesting.

Off to Tassie tomorrow, yes there are mobile speed cameras, they are a white trailer arrangement as seen here Police trial camera trailers | The Advocate and here is the other side Police urge road patience as drivers face the biggest risk of hospital admission on Christmas Eve - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

I've seen them in Ulverstone and Launcestion on 50kph streets, however I haven't done much driving around Tassie, maybe one of the locals can give us more information.

Did not see a speed camera in the eight days we were there, mind you I still may receive a letter regarding the ones I didn't see, if you get what I mean!

Tassie drivers also sit too close to your rear end, but we'll be back, pity we won't be there for targa in a couple of weeks, where else in the world do they close highways for several hours so people can drive fast.

Saw a group of Alvis cars in Legerwood on a cruise, including the model that Stephen Fry drives in Kingdom, nice bits of machinery.

When in the Tamar region over Easter came across the Oldsmobile car club a few times.
Best was once at Cradle Mountain when a great collection of Bugattis turned up.
Have also been there for a couple of Targas.

Definitely. I rarely use the partner card. I got so sick of the "need to talk to the card owner" privacy rubbish when there were issues.

When my dad passed, the bank cancelled the credit card for obvious reasons and said mum couldn't afford one on her own.

Pretty hard to get credit, when all your loans have been done by the other partner

One for the inconsiderate file. On Malaysia business, my seat buddy decided he owned most of the space. That's Ed's BP and all his cough, except the black bag. Also chucked his blanket in the space at my feet, later on.

Our invisibility index has risen nicely in Melbourne with folks cutting us off when we are pedestrians and in shopping queues. I am not sure when this started but if you are over 50 or 60 are you noticing this phenomenon?

Slightly different. I am finding that young men in their 20's are fabulous - I reckon coz they think of their mum - they try help me out with heavy stuff in Ikea for example. Whereas men in their 60's seem to try to avoid helping and even make it worse by trying to squeeze through small gaps in front of my trolley.

Putting on a flame suit - what is it about SOME men in their sixties when travelling, try make themselves the centre of attention by talking really loudly and cracking truly dreadful jokes. Maybe they haven't travelled much in their working life to understand the nuances of travel. (Which means that none of these comments apply to AFF'ers :p. Phew)

Agree totally.

I hope you spoke up

I did introduce myself shortly after the picture in the hope having a name might gain some respect. But it didn't. So I just took my space when I needed it by moving his stuff out of the way. Having the blanket chucked at me feet was the killer moment, but could speak then because I only had swear words.

FWIW no status on BP. I thought perhaps he was just enjoying the experience.

Now,now. We talk louder because we are going deaf.

Me too. Richie was always part of why I loved following cricket. I loved his insights and commentary and for many years he was the face of cricket. I don't really like many of the people who host the cricket these days. It just doesn't feel right without Richie.

As an 11 yo, I watched Richie captain and bowl Australia to victory in 1958 against England. He inspired me to take on the most difficult type of bowling which I did with moderate success. I met him in 1972 and the stories he told were absolutely enchanting. The world has lost a great citizen.
