The totally off-topic thread

Thoughts are with the NSW members who are still having to batten down the hatches with ongoing severe weather warnings.

Ironically, my roster at my Place of Employment had me washing trains on Monday & Tuesday. The washplant was out of action due to a fault (possibly weather/flood related?) on Monday & we washed 2 trains on Tuesday before being retasked to assist elsewhere in the depot.

Driving on the roads has been difficult, even with an AWD Subi. Glad I'm not in a 2WD car.

Compared to others, I've seen little carnage.

We have escaped relatively unscathed. Only one tree down on our nature strip. Haven't had any power since 0300 on Tuesday though so it was fun last night lighting candles and playing Trivial Pursuit. Not so much fun hand washing dishes. Cooking options are limited to the gas cook top. Kids schools are closed today so apart from one vital meeting I need to attend I will be working from home.
Hopefully power will be restored today or tomorrow, fingers crossed :)

good luck Princess

Thank goodness we live on top of a hill. Over 260mm rain here, no damage to house but driveway almost washed away and lots of damage to the garden. Will keep Mr jojen busy for the next week or so !!
Thoughts go out to the people in Dungog who have lost their lives, and also their homes.

If you are working from home I hope that they don't start delivering your work to you!

+ 1 on the working from home today. I saw a patch of blue sky about an hour ago for a few minutes, belting down again now though.

Working in an open plan office is a bit of an eye opening experience. People seem to gather in groups and have loud and rather irrelevant conversations...

Just arrived in Dublin...we left Sydney on Mon pm in heavy rain...no idea the weather would get so bad! Just rang my neighbour (thanks Skype for cheap calls), and my house seems OK. ..phew!

Congrats on the new job, even though it seems like a construction site :D

Another wasted suite last night.

Got upgraded to a large-ish King Suite, and went to the room, flopped on the bed, work up, showered, checked out, and went to work.

NBN hey.....can you hurry up the bloody rollout..... To the people that can afford it and not just the plebs!!!!
