Welcome back, sports fans - I bring you greetings from Japan and some horrible flu thing from the plane : hence my non-attendance at Wednesday's Brisbane drinks.

Well I hope you will be better by the 30 September for our next Brisbane drinks night.

Bl..dy storm.

No imagination, just let the wind work for you ... now will need to send good players over to Mt. Smart in the last round to ensure home final.

Go Dockers ... leading 27 points ½time.

Bombers lose and Hawks and Essendon play a real elimination final next Saturday afternoon!

Both the Brisbane Lions and the Brisbane Broncos won there respective matches over the weekend. :D

Hawks did, Storm didn't - watched Sea Eagles victory live from the FL here in AKL.

Don't tell me your health has gone to the pigs, if you know what I mean?

No, I think I arrived back in Brisbane the week after all the hillbillies brought their bugs in to display at Ekka. Either that or the freezing NRT-SYD leg killed me. I had 3 blankets and I was still freezing. Freezing in my lovely exit row.

That's what you get for sleeping next to a door :p

Well the Aussies are now 7 wickets away from a humiliating trip home.

Ponting and Hussey as it seems screwed up a good thing.

If I had to be even a bit fair, 325 runs could be achieved with the rest of the order, but we are quickly running out of "heroes", and the English are clearly the masters of their turf.

Unlucky with Clarke, but I agree with the decision, he was just out.

Funny how they keep showing Daniel Radcliffe and Tom Felton in the crowd.

Australia cruising along at 5/316. World record run chase would be extremely embarassing for the English....

Well, it's all over now. Australia all out just under 200 runs short.

The urn belongs to the cricketers of the Mother country; Ponting comes home empty handed a second time - the only Aussie captain in a century of cricket to do so.

It's going to be a very uncomfortable ride home for the Aussie team. No doubt the selections panel is going to have a hard look at some of the player's contracts.........

I have managed to put the mocka on someone again.

The captain should not be the scapegoat. The current Australian team is extremely ordinary and very inconsistent.

Australia must be ruing the decision not to play a front line spinner.
Perhaps if the spinner was Bradmanesque with the bat as well

As inconsistent as a QF long-haul crew (or is that too on-topic for this thread?) :p

This is awesome. Its 225am here in Honolulu and I'm laying on Waikiki Beach, listening to the gentle waves roll in. And I'm using free wifi from a nearby hotel :) hehehehe

Ps. Thanks Serfty for guesting me into the FLounge a couple of days ago.
