The totally off-topic thread

You mean not a chance because the only one capable is Symonds and he's not on the team anymore :p
No because Boonie and I share a birthday and so he really is a legend.I have the Med students record Adelaide 1965 and well defended Dunedin 1966.

Completely forgot of course, that they now have 7 one-day matches to get through, so they wont be coming back just yet, or at least not the majority of them.

Yeh, Hadden is coming back due to injury. I think Ponting is coming back for a small rest also?

As inconsistent as a QF long-haul crew (or is that too on-topic for this thread?) :p
I can safely say after having many long haul QF flights in the last 6 years that the flight a couple of days ago SYD-LAX on QF107 was the worst flight I have had on any carrier even with seated in premium economy seats.

I don't know what to do but when I get over this jet lag QF will be receiving another further scathing feedback from me. Extremely disappointing and even my father who does not fly very often feels that the service was extremely poor....

I will be hanging around here a bit more often over the next few weeks. I have fractured my ankle in 3 places and have had 5 pins put in. I was playing rugby league and made a tackle. The guy (a prop) landed on my leg and I knew immediately what happened.

I will be in plaster and off work for a very long 6 weeks. Quite frustrating but my wife did say I shouldn't have played in the first place!

Flew StarClass from HNL to SYD yesterday and was bumped from my pre-allocated Seat 1A to Seat 2A due to passengers in 1A/B requiring the bassinet holds. Anyway unless I was super-duperly keen on QF SC's or Points, it's very very unlikely I would pay any extra for StarClass seats in liue of standard economy seats anytime soon.

My biggest whinge for a window seat was that if the person in front of me is fully reclined, in which my case was most of the time, I guarantee that it is impossible to get out of my seat without 1) asking that person to recline back up and 2) asking my neighbour to hop out.

Eek! That's no good. All the best for a speedy recovery! Hindsight is a wonderful thing.. ;)

As seen on the Internets today...

Surly Elmo character in Times Square - UPI.com

NEW YORK, Aug. 23 (UPI) — A man dressed as the "Sesame Street" character, Elmo, was rude to tourists in New York when they tried to photograph him, the New York Daily News said.

The newspaper reported the character — surly and dirty, nothing like the Elmo on the TV show — swore at and jostled people who wouldn't give him money when they tried to photograph him Saturday.

"No picture. No picture. You have to tip Elmo. You have to tip Elmo or Elmo gets angry," the Elmo impersonator said, placing his paw over a tourist's camera lens.

If you've been having a bad day today..... here's a little story that will put a smile on your dial :)

Around 3am I woke up, and decided to pop downstairs to get a drink.... well, I certainly went downstairs! Was half asleep still and lost my footing and fell down to the half way mark. That sure woke me up!

Dusted myself off, got back up and all was good. Little bit sore around the shin/ankle area, but I'll survive

That's my clumsy moment for the year!

That's just sick.

I have an unactivated ANZ (standard) Qantas Visa - i.e. they approved me and I have the card, but I haven't activated it yet. As long as I don't activate it, I don't have to pay the $90 annual fee.

But now I received a letter offering me a ANZ Qantas Amex (supposed to complement my existing Visa card). Obviously the Amex card is better because not only is it $1 = 1 point like the ANZ Visa, but it is uncapped (ANZ Visa has an overall cap on points you can earn; plus every month, expenses in excess of $1500 only earn 0.5 points / $; over $5000 earning cuts off).

Normally I wouldn't think much of it, but if I accept the Amex card, for 3 months I can get 2 QFF points for $1. Even if I don't have the ability to sweep to QF any more with my current Amex, my current Amex is only giving me 1 MR point for $1 anyway.

To accept or not to accept..... (the cheese is that it will cost me $90).......

The weakness of hesitation.

NZ had C-saver Trans-Tasman fares for just over NZD 600 during middle of December. They were still there about two days ago.

Now they're all gone. Gotta hate hesitating. :( :( NZ TT C back to NZD 1000+.

Sorry, just had to vent. Please resume your having a good Friday.
