We just don't get in Australia just how big a deal this is!!!

It is on a scale we don't deal with hence this 'over reaction'.

only tangential to this. Saw a sports program in the U.S. Last night that showed that the top 3 NFL ( grid iron) players have current contracts worth total of about US$750 million. Yes, abt US$250 million per player.

Compare that to the NHL where the salary cap for the entire team (22 player squad) is something like $70m & they play an 82 game regular season plus potentially a 28 game post season, training etc.

Yep, it's just the start of our football season. Our game already played at 3am this morning, but we will watch tonight. Hot dogs (and a side of salad) for dinner tonight in front of the TV.
