Saw flight crew at breakfast yesterday morning at Holiday Inn Sukhumvit. Looked Middle Eastern. Dark blue uniforms. Royal Jordanian? Uniform looks to be different colour when I Googled it.

Are flight crew required to be in uniform in these types of situations?

I've seen them there as well. Not sure what airline they are from but I guess if they are going straight from meal to airport then it would save time changing clothes.

Which Middle Eastern airline leaves BKK that early?

Sitting At a beach resort in Fiji with a Tsunami warning in place for midnight.

Not the most comfortable feeling I've ever had.

Well, this is a large hailstorm now by Adelaide's standards.

Interesting story from the Himalayas about some deadly hail.

Among Himalayan women there is an ancient and traditional folk song. The lyrics describe a goddess so enraged at outsiders who defiled her mountain sanctuary that she rained death upon them by flinging hailstones “hard as iron.” After much research and consideration, the 2004 expedition came to the same conclusion. All 200 people died from a sudden and severe hailstorm.
Trapped in the valley with nowhere to hide or seek shelter, the "hard as iron” cricket ball-sized [about 23 centimeter/9 inches circumference] hailstones came by the thousands, resulting in the travelers' bizarre sudden death. The remains lay in the lake for 1,200 years until their discovery.

Better than being surprised though. Hopefully it all peters out before it reaches you.

The uniforms don't match. Plus saw them after 10:00am.

I think you might be right. It would appear Egypt Air has a tag flight BKK-KUL that departed at 2:35pm yesterday.

If I was as curious as you, I would have asked them, the uniformed crew.

Being the eternal optimist - I'd prepare for the worst and hope fpr a pleasant surprise.

Namely:
  1. Charge phone fully. If not familiar with the area - consult a map.
  2. Put all travel docs, phone and money together in a plastic bag of some sorts.
  3. Put any meds into same plastic bag
  4. Put any other small valuables (not water affected) into a small carry bag together with a minimal change of clothes and a cap/hat of some sort.
  5. Make sure I have a couple of bottles of water or 12
  6. Have a BIG dinner
  7. Set alarm for 30 minutes before wave due.
  8. Start walking to highest nearby ground with plastic bag & small bag and camera in hand.

But that's just me.

Hope you have nothing to report!
