Anybody that has DSE gift cards should use them right now before staff are instructed to refuse them (i.e. to use them, literally, right now).

Too late:

In a blow to customers, Ferrier Hodgson said it would not honour outstanding gift vouchers or refund deposits paid for goods.

"Affected customers will become unsecured creditors of the group," the firm said in a statement.

Sadly this is all too typical.

I almost bought a new computer from them last week. Glad I went somewhere else, considering my old computer failed after just 9 months and I ended up getting a refund from the store where I bought it. I'm guessing that if the same thing happened now with something from DSE, you'd be screwed.

I bought a laptop from DJs, which sources their tech stuff from DSE but I assume as my invoice is with DJs it would be fine.

You are still entitled to manufacturer's warranties (express and implied), and standard ACL and common law provisions (merchantable quality, fit for purpose, etc), Just you may not be able to take it back to the store if they are wound up.

You can still go direct to the manufacturer.

Maybe because you didn't have to work to achieve academic success so in the real world that strategy translate?
I don't know. I was 12 years old. I don't know what I was thinking. But one thing is clear is that 12 year old sabotaged our life. Or something along those lines.

The actual store was David Jones so I assume to onus falls the them.

Yes.

Of course we hope nothing goes wrong with your product so you don't need to "test" this.

#460 - suggest that instead of "decorating" the interior of the dishwasher, some logic should be applied to how items are stacked!

#461 - When wifey informs you she wants to 'Go somewhere different these holidays' best you don't respond with 'Ever thought of trying the kitchen'?

All sorts of records broken in the 3rd test in Sydney. Looks like West Indies could bat through the match. ;)

The arrogance of Australian cricket commentators suggesting some sporting declarations to get a result in the match? Why would West Indies want to do that? Increase the Australian level of arrogance up a notch or 2?

Shame the match is going to be washed out. West Indies are showing signs of improvement. They should have batted first in Melbourne.
