I guess it doesn't work for people with crazy routings. ;)

Wait until you put mutiple nested/end-on-end itineraries into it.

It has a hard time evaluating trips for small nests let along the monster I am organising for SWMBO and I.

e.g.

Flight Booking #:
  1. March MEL-AKL
  2. March AKL-USA, September USA-EUR-ASIA, March* ASIA-SWP-AKL
  3. March SEA-LAX
  4. March LAX-MEL, September MEL-LAX
  5. September: SIN-MEL, March* (2011) MEL-SIN
  6. March* AKL-MEL
  7. September FCO-VIE-FCO

Add to that no less than 15 separate hotel bookings ... which may be relatable by date to more than one of those flight bookings.

There is a move edit facility but it's clumsy (item by item) - I would be very happy if itinerary "split" and "join" facilities were available.

*March 2010, not booked yet or dummy dates (Sep/Oct currently).

Offer expires: 18 Mar 2025

But it's not a "Crazy Routing(s)'.

It's effectively Four separate itineraries (Stopovers highlighted):
  1. MEL-xAKL-xLAX-BOS-MIA-xDFW-SEA-xLAX-xAKL-MEL (15 Days, March 2010)
  2. MEL-xAKL-LAX-xORD-FCO-VIE-xFCO-xMAD-TLS-xLHR-xSIN-MEL (17 Days, September 2010)
  3. MEL-xSIN-NRT-xSYD-MEL (10 Days, Feb/Mar 2011)
  4. MEL-AKL-MEL(4 Days, March 2011)

Can't you just list it all as one trip;

Which lasts for 15 months.

and the smiles I was trying to be clever. :p

fair enough - I didn't want people to think I was into such with Jenny in tow. (now If I was on my own however ... ;))

I had enough trouble trying to figure out your itinerary; I would hate to think what you could come up with if you were doing the trip on your own.

Who mentioned tripit at AFF #3; that tool is brilliant; especially as I have an iphone.

Well I'm trialling it again ... There's just something about the layout I can't grasp. Still, it is good from the perspectives of "have I missed any days / double booked accommodation"

Well I found out why JohnK likes playing golf in Thailand-scoring is obviously easy. From the PG airways magazine Fah Thai(try saying that quickly:oops:)-Thai golfer Chinarit won the Queens Cup Samui golf tournament firing an excellent score of 18:shock: with 268 under-pars:shock::shock:!
Guess I will have to play a round in Thailand(OK so who will be first;)).

If you give the caddy a tip before the game she will write on the scorecard whatever score you tell her to write. :p ;)

OK so I am not the first but you really need to be careful who you play a round with, and how often, in Thailand. :p ;)

My next 3 trips as mixture of a few airlines and its good to put them all together.
+1 for TripIt, do like how it works and its never skipped a beat with itinerary imports I've emailed to it.

Where I've found it falls down is when adding other things you're doing on the trip, like meetings and events for example, and it automatically applies the timezone.

I was adding some things to do when in Hobart next weekend, and for some reason it kept applying the timezone for Bogota, Columbia to the items - despite the item being added to a trip and in a location where its obviously not.

Perhaps I should try it next time, particularly as writing my own itineraries can be fun but time consuming.

OTOH I don't have an iPhone (shaddup in the peanut gallery!)

That is indubitably annoying. I hate it when a system which should be particularly apt at handling global timings can get it wrong. This applies to you too, Microsoft Outlook!

Reminds me of when all the Windows systems had to be patched for the WA daylight savings, then of course now its been abolished. Before the hasty patch was published, we had to be very verbose and specific with all meeting times. Damn Westies can't make up their minds!

Just want to say congratulations to all Kiwis. All Whites are going to the World Cup! See you all in South Africa next year!

Neither do I, Nokia N97.

Good thing is that once you've thrown it all your confirmations and extra information, the mobile version of the site for Non-iPhoners is a breeze to use. You can also export the whole itinerary to an iCal file in a couple of clicks, and load that into the calendar service your phone syncs with and everything is there.

Totally agreed, and of course there's the issues with most TV's and the EPG information. My Sony Bravia gets the time from the TV networks information, and thus it thinks its an hour later than it actually is. sigh.

The easiest way to solve this problem is to leave Joondalup and head east to Australia.:p

ejb (ex PER now happy in SYD)

Tempting, but I don't think QF would appreciate my efforts of flying on discount economy tickets to a different east coast location second weekend.

I love flying, and being in PER keeps the habit in check. Over there, I'd have no problems qualifying for Gold inside 9mths, and I'm sure the weekend club staff would get worried that they have got to know me on a first name basis.

Just thought I'd share some exciting news from me to you guys, who unlike 99% of my friends, would understand...

I MADE SILVER!!!! Finally ;)

So now I'm thinking of all these ways to justify gold, but then again I'm always trying to justify another step up...

hehe, congrats :)

And yeah I know the feeling about friends not understanding... at least I have a good support group here.
