Rung the bank - The gave me quite a bit of extra money over the phone - not that I am comfortable borrowing that much - wish me luck for tomorrow. With luck I may own a new chateaux.
.

I AM available for the housewarming party. How about Sunday evening, as I'm on my way back from the Hunter??

I had some good teachers. Being children on teachers also got to know them socially. bumped into my year 1 teacher in Queens St mall in Brisbane when I was in about 5th year at uni. Was good friends with the principle's children, even a party at his place one christmas chatting about the cricket with the man himself. My best mate's mother was my geography teacher. English teacher in year 8 and 9 was Joh's commissar, he used to infer the girls were all street walkers.

Year 9 teacher punch me square in the center of my chest - Hard! He dragged another kid across two rows of desks and threw him out of the class like they do in a cartoon. Year 9 german teacher said my mother was a rubbish teacher in about the 3rd week of school. We didn't get on well after that, not a good year. Music teacher was amazing terrific. Shame she left the school, but I could still find a contact with her now. Raced another teacher along sheridan street in Cairns one day. Beat him driving his mighty boy, when we got to the next set of lights he just a rubber band broke.

Teachers are great...

This is unbelievable !! "A mother’s complaint to Woolies when they refused to exchange milk she bought from Coles has gone viral."

A Facebook comment from an angry mother has gone viral after she was told she couldn’t exchange milk at Woolworths that she’d actually bought at Coles.

The best thing I saw related to this was someone on the coles fb page with a legit complain about off fruit or something. Someone put in a comment along the lines of "take it back to woolworths and ask to swap it for milk"

Absolutely, back in my day we played things like snake, tetris and Doom ;)

Elite and The ancient art of war for me. But only after we got our computer licence that allowed us to use the computer room during lunch.
Oh and Carmen San Diego on the Mac in Dad's library.

Australian viewers watching I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Herewere left alarmed when former cricketer Shane Warne was bitten on the head by a snake.
The sportsman was taking part in one of the show's famed Bushtucker Trials when the incident occurred.

After a few nervous hours and a battery of medical tests the snake was found to be unharmed by the experience.

Watch out market is slowing. What you purchase today might be worth less in five years time.

Re: Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

So what's it like to drink the Worlds Most Expensive Coffee? Pretty good actually. Sure it's a novelty. As you are whisked off to the deepest recesses of Bali in Indonesia. There you meet the Asian Palm Civet who's job it is to eat and poop coffee beans. And you meet the well-warn Indonesians that appear to use primitive processing techniques to make this unique coffee.
[I say appear, because lots of travel has taught me - all is not what it seems when it comes to what is blatantly a tourist revenue stream! Even though it looked pretty authentic on the day.]

So what's it like?
I hear you ask. It's actually quite intense and earthy. But it's very smooth. There's a slight bitterness in the background. And the aftertaste: well, that lingers prestigiously long into the day. The finish and aftertaste is probably it's best feature.

Is it worth the AUD80 paid for 200g?

No. But, it's a unique coffee, with a great story. And best of all - surely it's the dinner party bragging rights that your guests are sampling theMost Expensive Coffee In the World ...!

Seems I came home from Fiji at a good time as TC Winston is bearing down on the place. Here is the published notice from Fiji Airways:

FLIGHT TRAVEL ALERTS
February 19, 2016
Fiji Airways would like to advise our passengers that due to adverse weather conditions associated with Tropical Cyclone Winston, Fiji Airways and Fiji Link flights will be affected over the next few days.
Current weather models indicate the Fiji Group is expected to receive destructive winds and heavy rain starting early Sunday morning up until early next week.

Sue is due to leave there on VA184 at 1635 tomorrow.
All VA flights (and FJ) to/from Nadi have been cancelled for the next 2 days at least. Sue wanted to stay in Fiji a bit longer but not like this. I did manage to get her a Hilton booking at a reasonable rate though it did go up $FJ100 whilst I was looking.

Going home today. 6 weeks on the new wonder drugs then haematology review. After last night in a 6 bed ward of men and women - well, home is good. Retrieval Helicopter seemed like it was landing in the room at 2am. Best meal I had was a bowl of wheeties at breakfast. Sorry - no food pix.

You should transfer to the DYKWIA thread or steal something, get arrested and get your room back.

Yup. Interesting concept this, isn't it. Maybe they need a prisoner ward. There are many prisoners in the hospital, each in their own room.

Would have been happy to move for infection control purposes but this kinda rankled.

If you just paste in some text, the forum software URLEncodes the characters (e.g. full stop '.' are replaced with %2E) which breaks the link.

Put the text in that you want (e.g. the URL, or any arbitrary text) and then use the "link" icon to specify the URL.
