Congrats ! (Or commiserations ... depending on how much you enjoyed uni life)

Something I am extremely enthusiastic about which is always a good start. :)

No way - they actually made you QF's official First Class cabin service and catering quality assurance field tester? :p

I wish! It does involve some work travel with a very reasonable corp travel policy. :)

Now lets see, how many jobs combine shopping, fashion, champagne, night clubs and exotic locations

maybe best to remain a student

I almost shot myself during Honours year - I don't think I will last a MA or Phd!

Yes… poor.

In other news. I think I need another martini, 4 should do it!
If I was a drinker, I'd be joining you for a martini... or 7.

Best I'll do is a properly made LL&B at the PER T2 QP tomorrow night. Just about died the last time I was there, ordered an LL&B, and the female bartender asked if I'd like it made with Pepsi instead of lemonade. My head just about spun around in shock akin to one of those possessed people in a coughpy b-grade horror flick.

I've probably posted about this before here somewhere, but I was in the Brisbane QP one night a couple of years ago and drinking away. Returned to the counter and the bar guy said "Same again?" - I said Yep, and wondered how I had gotten into his memory as to my drink choice as the place was busy, and I wasn't being a soak.

So then he starts pouring a Jim Beam and coke (I think). I Went huh, as I was either drinking Rum+Dry or Crown Lager that night.

He quickly corrects things, pours me my real drink and apologises as he thought I was another person he remembers...

Oh nooooo.

Seriously, congratulations QF009. Have just been smoozing with Chris Bowen today and Joe Hockey tomorrow.

is currently in the BA Terrace Lounge Amsterdam going to London with a lounge without working wifi, so I had to resort to a lounge computer.

Some of the keys are out of position, not much but enough to be annoying.

The beer is free; lots of it; but not food; anyone for chips; I wonder what will be on the flight,;) snacks as they got rid of any real food.

And you think chips aren't food! Enjoy your birdseed ( a horrible snack mix) or the sweet option (don't know what it is, but believe a biscuit )

Depending on the drink you order, you might be offered either or both! Beers etc tend to be given birdseed, coffee etc is given biscuit.

Enjoy the flight! I'm at King's Cross right now, if I had've known your flight details I may have been out at Heathrow with a big welcome card ;)

Do we get that when we arrive in a few days? Coming in via Eurostar in First though :p

Our accommodation in London is quite near Kings Cross and St Pancras. We'll be there in a few days. Right now, though, we are across the channel in Paris.

LOL  the joys of foreign keyboards. I had to almost hunt-and-peck type in the LH Tower Lounge, even though the only main difference (IIRC) is that the Y and Z keys are switched. Dutch keyboards are a whole lotta fun too

Thank goodness for free grog. Being in the BA T5 GF and having bottles of Bollinger ready to be consumed was a heavenly sight! Apart from the refectory section, however, the rest of the snacks (particularly those positioned near the alcohol) were...chips. All sorts, but chips. The only other things were biscuits that are meant to complement coffee or tea (hence next to the coffee/tea machine).

BA CE food is relatively generous...I think. My extended breakfast (meal between breakfast and lunch) on CE was a "charcuterie board" (basically a cold meat selection - slice of salami, ham and prosciutto - plus a slice of cheese, slice of salmon and creme fraiche), a bakery item (select with your hand, not given to you with tongs), a tub of yoghurt and full bar (including Pommery champagne). I have a photo somewhere....

Now you become a fully fledged worker on the same day mrsdrron becomes WP.You love shopping for shoes, she loves shopping for shoes, you could never do HCO trips neither can she. This is starting to look a little suspicious :p:confused:

You guys are living in luxury ! :) You'll have to let me know how the Business lounge is: Business Lounges (I assume you get access).

Maybe I will be there with a chauffeur sign ... I'd need to know what time it arrives, and which service it is.

On the job front, have another bite from a recruiter. This one is a role in London (for a change!). May know more about it once my CV ends up with the client in the usual mangled way that recruiters work!
