Just got my credit card statement and don't recognise two of the business names.

Surely it should be mandated that the name on the store front is used on the credit card statement?

It would be so much easier to check your statement for incorrect charges.

Do agree. Often googling solves that issue, and some banks (cba?) have a tool you can use to lookup merchants.

I had an item with the merchant category being photo processing recently. Huh? As if I'd make that charge.... Oh, it's a left baggage facility in Oslo (did take some googling)

Same here! Just one merchant in my case, but 2 charges of $800 each, no name but ANZ listed them on the statement as 'travel and booking services SYD'. Card now cancelled.

90mm of rain has fallen at NTL this morning causing the roof to collapse. Airport now closed and likely no more flights today.

Must have used the same builder as I did for my 2nd storey extension

Earthquakes prevalent this past week:

2 in southern Japan
1 in Ecuador
1 in Tonga

Another weekend and managed to control alcohol intake quite well.

One beer on Friday and 2 beers after golf today. Wasn't going to have 2 beers after golf but 2 x $3 drink vouchers swayed my decision. ;) Also had a Metaxa brandy yesterday as a friends mum passed away before Easter and I have known the family 40+ years.

Resisted any alcohol in lounge. Now 4 days alcohol free and we'll see what happens next week.

I think I have every vaccination known to man for travel, except the rabies one.

I've had the rabies vacc. Working with bats will make that one compulsory.

Got my flu vacc this morning. Went to the doctor for something else, he asked if I'd had it, and when I said no he jabbed me before I could even think about it. Free as an asthmatic anyway and I'd planned on getting it asap so now its done.

SWMBO had rabies before going on exchange in Asia. She decided it was a waste of time. Basically, if they think you're at risk of rabies then you need something like 8 injections. The vaccine is a series of 3 injections, but if you get bitten then you still need something like 5 more. Basically, you're getting 8 injections either way. About the only possible benefit is maybe it's possible to delay a bit longer of the follow up if you've had the first 3.She did say they were the most painful injections she ever had.

The least painful vaccine I ever had was smallpox.

The Australian reports evidence of two payments made by Channel 9 to the organiser of the abduction. Are they not the offenders here? But will never be subject to the legal system in Lebanon. Can others be tried in 'default'?

Legal system in Australia could hammer them, by proxy, their captured staff will feel the pain over there.

I didnt find them particularly painful, the cervical cancer vaccine hurt more. For the rabies, I was more fascinated by the fact the vaccine was fluoro pink coloured.

Slightly different, but I have just found out that Wilson can take ~3 weeks to process a transaction.

Found an amount from Wilson that was processed 2am Saturday morning (I was tucked in for the night...), but found it to be the parking transaction from the 25th March. Quite anxious with the statements now having hard a previous card compromised.

Get bitten by a monkey in Asia and we can fix that for you

Or bitten by a bat in North Queensland Also comes with anti rabies serum injection in the area of the bite!

Trying to purchase a product that a website claims to be 30% off $50. Click on the link and can only find it for the full amount.
I have tried contacting the vendor to no avail, however this seems to be bordering on deceptive. Annoying having to chase these things up...

I've had the rabies vaccine. I spent a lot of time in West Bengal in 2007 (Not just Kolkata, but had some time in "rural areas"), so my fairly cautious doctor talked me into it, along with the pain of anti-malaria drugs.

From memory it's not cheap, and requires multiple doses.

3 shots. Mine was paid for as part of my uni work but I feel like it was quite $$.
