Row 2 on QF 864 to OOL smells like a French coughs bedroom. !!! What is it with women who feel the need to drench themselves in cat pis perfume ?!!! Rant over.

How many bedrooms of french coughs have you been in??

Hang on, I'm not sure I want to know!!
At least I was only going to ask how GPH knows what a French coughs bedroom smells like :!:

First time for me to see water offered in bubbly and non bubbly forms on QF metal! Business flight Perth Mel.

Also surprised at the USA style ( Los Angeles) shut before Bay 12 then being towed in at Tullamarine airport tonight!

What was Grant Hackett doing flying VA in Business :o. What little credabilty he had has evaporated and Candice must be feeling a little justified...

Always experienced this at LAX. What's the reason for this practice?

They did not say why just that it's happening. Captain coming in over the PA.

This is a rant.

When working out what to do with Mum's ashes we thought about scattering them with her parents graves at Centennial Park Memorial.

My Grandfather served on the Western Front in WWI. He worked on the War Graves repatriation at the end of the War. He worried about those soldiers who died without a grave.

He developed heart issues from the trenches and died at 53 before I was born.

On his headstone is AIF and the words 'We will remember'.

Well, clearly Centennial Park doesnt want to. Unless we continue to pay approx $500 every five years his remains will be dug further down and his headstone will be removed.

We contacted our Attorney General who in the media promised that no War Veterans Graves will be touched if their headstones are marked with War Service. That was in January. No real response yet.

But come Monday we will see them in solemn tribute to Anzac Day in front of the media. Meaningless gesture to me.

At least it doesn't smell like some flatulent male sat there!

Have you had any contact with DVA ?

About the Office of Australian War Graves | Department of Veterans' Affairs

Thankyou. I will try them. I see one of the conditions is that death must be from consequences of war service. It will be hard to prove now as his death was 60 years ago. My grandmother said he pretty much wiped his hands of DVA (or its equivalent) while he was alive as they were of very little help to him. We do have his service records but not much else to prove cause of death but 53 is too young. His wife (my Grandmother) lived another 40 years after him. He was unwell all his adult life. He was 17 when he went to France. :(

Sorry to hear. War tends to do that to people.

If it was me I'd simply pay the $100/year to keep his memory alive. I know it's a pain but it's not a lot. Just sacrifice one night/year in a 5 star hotel and stay in a 3 star hotel instead.

Sure. It isn't much. But its a principal isn't it?

That's pretty poor. I hope you get a resolution.

Pushka also get in touch with the Federal Minister for Veteran Affairs.
Sadly though as a country we lack respect for fallen veterans.I was privileged to look after one of the 6 survivors of Sandakan.like your grandfather he turned his back on DVA and the RSL.He never talked of his experiences. But when he died that meant officially he had not died of a war caused illness so his widow, who he was married to when he left for war,was not entitled to a gold card.Even writing to the minister pointing out that this case could not cause a rush of similar cases did not bring any joy.In the end I wrote a masterful theory connecting his one registered war injury with his cause of death and justice prevailed.By the way his widow was 91.

I hope common sense will prevail Pushka.
