Depends on how much and what kinds of games you play. That has to be some major streaming or something else the kids are doing to have a major impact on your ping. It could also be your connection...

There is something going on with the 2.4GHz wifi network, absolutely kills my amateur online gaming. The flashing light on the modem/router stops when youngest's iPod goes into flight mode. They stream spotify, guvera, and Nova. at various times. Just about all other devices are on the 5 GHz wifi with no flashing data light. Implemented MAC address restrictions a few weeks back, so fairly sure no one is leaching.
yes the internet connection is probably bad.

contention issues and then of course where is the gaming server if like SWOTOR server was removed from Australia do the nearest one is in USA of course Ping Time is then over half a second therefore response times mean you get clobbered!

I think the server is asia somewhere. The game reports ping numbers that I assume are in milliseconds. when the kids doing stuff 1000 or more is not unusual. But get them off and it's around 150-200. Even the Qantas club wifi is better. ;)

ADSL is no longer able to keep up, and yes maybe Qantas Wifi is better times.

NBN or cable may provide you better contention then ADSL

Yikes, I had lower ping response times from my client sites in remote Africa on satellite connections!

A350, AY90 Bangkok to Helsinki on Tuesday, excellent flight, J class had 18 spare seats and down the back most people had a spare seat next to them, some even spread out over 3 seats, whole rows were empty.
Good food and wine, attentive crew, but as a sign of the future, mobile access was allowed, one guy a couple of seats away from me spent hours on his phone, talking loudly, disconnecting, reconnecting, just as well the bose headphones did their job. I'm presuming he was using the internet access to provide calls to his phone.

I have flown the reindeer route previously on the A340, this is way better, very quiet plane, even without the nose cancelling headphones.

Although I can't wait for everyone to be using their phone on a flight :(

A319 down to Milan was not quite so good, old plane and full, except you do get a shadow in J, but for the price and sc's I can live with that. Now Easyjet to Alghero, only an hour, so that's bearable!

Sorry I eat food, I don't take photos of it :)

There will likely be an element of this when it comes to how much liability is payable by the shopping centre, if any.

Whilst it is true that society in general should take more responsibility for its own actions rather than blaming and suing, there are still clear examples of where companies have not taken most reasonable steps to ensure that people are safe. However, seeing as I wasn't at this location, I wouldn't know the nature of the incident here.

The test is reasonable foreseeability. If it was reasonably foreseeable that someone could trip over the display, then whoever put it there is negligent. Having said all that is it worth it in terms of time and monetary compensation to pursue a claim?

Did everyone over 50 have their shingles shot?
Yes I did...recently went to the doc to get my annual free flu shot, plus pneumonia. Doc scolded me for saying I couldn't justify $250 for the shingles vaccine. Said anyone over 60 should have it, and if I ever copped a dose I'd certainly be in so much pain I'd regret not doing it. Apparently it's free for people over 70. I think I'll get about $180 back through my health fund.

As an aside, folks of an age to have grandchildren should think about getting a whooping cough booster too

Thanks for your post Julesmac. The other night in Sydney I was out to dinner with a 50 year old who has had some high stress/pressure in her life. She told me that she had two shingles attacks in 2 years.

Ok a flea has been tested to be carrying the plague. It came off a chipmunk in the south Tahoe region in the US. Lucky we live in a world where we have medicines that can treat a diseased rat or chipmunk is what I am thinking.

I was there only 1 month ago! Could I be infected? ;)

It is unlikely Flashback. I see it more as a reason to eat meat that is sourced through tested abattoirs rather than going out and shooting Bambi (or equivalent) in the wild. I do know a group of hunters in Australia and they experience more sick days from their jobs than is "normal".
The only reason I go to a shooting gallery is to make sure I am still a crack shot. I do hope I never have to use that skill in real life. Culling vermin off farmlands is necessary as we don't need our fox, kangaroo or rabbit population to explode.

Wonder if that ship hasn't sailed already.
Rabbits are bloody everywhere in Perth, and foxes aren't too far behind. Seen more than a few running across streets between bushland in the inner suburbs.

Roos are tricky. They keep breeding, and we keep developing land and chewing up their ranges.
We had a very short trip to Dunsborough this week, and toured one of the new sub-divisions.
On one side of the road were some new homes, and on the other some paddocks which were chockers with kangaroos.
Literally hundreds of them. It looked like a staging area and they were marshalling for an assault on the community.
