My view is that the original offer of compensation to the football club was pretty 'hokey' for what occurred - the government wants to keep the club onside perhaps. If it allows others to demand compensation for being stuffed around and inconvenienced by the trains well and good but I can't see that happening. IMO governments handing out money should always be regarded with suspicion.
Your gas bill payment seems very hokey - someone has made an error somewhere perhaps? Chasing it up will be the painful thing.

It's a precedent that strengths the case of others to demand compo.

The gas bit is hokey, just not the hokey I thought. Turns out it's a good idea to read the name on letters before opening them. Guess I was just excited to receive a bill.
Now do I own up to the neighbour, or just drop it in his letterbox at 2 am?
Realised the error when there was another gas bill in the pile of bills. "what now they want $270! Oh, whoops."

It was indeed. Interestingly, there was no cloud cover for the entire trip. I had my window shade open and every time I looked out I could see a city nearby. Boy the US has a lot of people.
I noticed this on my way home from Toronto last week.

Oops - I suppose it depends on how well you know the neighbour

Agree to disagree on the actions of the SA Government.

Well, I don't think the Melbourne weather was as bad as they were expecting.

I made it home okay tonight. The roads were wet and it rained a little but it wasn't the pouring rain and low visibility that I was expecting. I still didn't like driving at night but glad that we're all home safe now.

Oh gosh. Now I need to drag out my sewing kits. I always grab these if they are provided because of a few hours I had to waste in Venice trying to find a shop that sold a needle and thread.

Or. Ahem. When someone irons someone else's travel pants that while the label says can be ironed, doesn't cope with the iron in the room that clearly is super super hot! Leaving a bit of a hole, actually more than a bit.

Police and soldiers everywhere in Panama City today. The new canal is opening tomorrow so lots of dignitaries in town. The new canal can take the very large container ships. The first one through is about 48m wide which is 13m wider than the old canal.

The fee for that ship to travel the canal (about 8 hours)?

US$586,000
