The English pound is starting trading this week with a 55 in it so Great Britain has become a bit cheaper for tourists. Last month we were getting 49s on the day we departed so that cheapens your visit if you have not bought and paid for things.

Great work.

My weight loss has stalled the past month. Now ~11kg less than beginning of April but still ~14kg to go to target weight of <100kg. :(

Go for it and you can do it.... I lost 27kg over about 12 months but am now toning and in the last about 6 or so months have lost over 1 metre off my body... It is not easy as it is a total lifestyle change.

As I send this to you I am at the Gym and have been here since about 6am

I remember the school holidays concept. Don't worry your children will grow up and boys really should leave home before they reach 40 years of age.

Thanks...

I have a nearly 8 year old and wants to be 18 some days and attitude to go with it...

Loss of iPad always has the desired attitude readjustment

Not really enjoying being at work today.

Not a fan of the meal in a box on the coast to coast flights on Qantas, filled out the survey maybe Qantas will take a look.

The first ship is now through the new Panama Canal

First voyage through expanded Panama canal - BBC News
It has had constant coverage here in PTY.

Interesting article, but some clarification required - The majority of work on the original canal was done by the French and then completed by the Americans. The Nicaraguan canal hasn't been started. There was a ground breaking ceremony in 2014, but nothing since. The lead Chinese investor has run into significant money trouble.

I visited the canal yesterday, and it certainly is a marvel of engineering, regardless of who built it. I am not sure it would get through an EES process today, though. ;)

I will keep trying but as you say it is not easy. Feels totally weird to be drinking a glass of water after an extremely frustrating round of golf.

Very keen. Shows you are fit. I wouldn't be able to put in a full days work after a morning gym session.

I am having small headaches if I don't keep my forehead warm. I'm hoping it's just me trying to get acclimatised back to our winter after spending a week or so in the 40ish degrees (Celcius) heat in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.

Sounds a bit like WWII, the Allies did the majority of the work and then the Americans came in and helped finish it off whilst claiming all the glory.

Though to be fair the French gave up in 1894 because of the very high mortality of the workers on the canal.
The US then bought the project from the French.Due to the work of Col.Gorgas the mortality from yellow fever and malaria was reduced dramatically. So they did solve the problems preventing the completion of the canal.

Just did my duty and had my name marked off the electoral roll. I just had to vote for Mohammad Ali, an independent in the senate for SA, out of respect for his famous namesake. The cough he would have got growing up means he deserves every chance to get some of that voting fee. Also gave the Sex party and Shooters an encouragement vote around 14 to 17.

Some Discovery channel doco I watched a few years ago made the point that the french version was based on a different route that required considerably more work. Besides the significant problems with tropical disease that was also presented as a reason for the french failure. The USA apparently took an easier route. So solved 2 problems.

I'm pretty sure that you have to get at least 5% of the vote to get paid. But you probably saved the taxpayer about $2!
