As a youngster in the 70s while visiting relatives we went on a 5 countries in 7 days coach tour.

Nothing much has changed - the WWII German sites around Normandy aren't much better.

Received this from the IWM - very moving.

Listen CE our footy team needs to tank to get better picks for next year and Ess must be playing the same game.
We have had an election while you guys have been swanning around getting your fill of kulture.
I had better check with Mrscove as one of our olds needs a pacemaker on Tuesday which is pretty good for 93.
Even my brother is back from his south of France jaunt to Melbourne but you guys are still missing.
I do have some Diana in Perth and Silver Oak in Los Angeles and bugger all in Melbourne.

Nervous mother here - Dr LtL in hospital today for repair of cam impingement and labral tears in hip cartilage. It's been very painful and she's not been able to do any sport for a couple of months (though it took a very long time to be diagnosed) so we are all hoping for a successful outcome. She doesn't take enforced leisure well  Father dropped her off this morning. Cat duty this evening and mother's making soup.

:( Ooooh, things that happen to our kids are always much worse than things that happen to ourselves! Hopefully once the initial surgery pain wears off it is all blue sky for her!

No, I never want electronic voting. Too easy to hack and change the result. I like paper. It can be counted and recounted if need be. And no hanging chads.

Saw something about a perth IT think tank who are working on a long string method for voting. Similar to bitcoin. I forget the actually name of the method, but it is secured by itself, in that the encryption depends on what has already been voted (in this case). Tampering can be detected immediately because nothing will decrypt properly. Also it can be recounted.
