It did take a couple of minutes for them to find my name today.

That wasn't the main reason for the delay!

One thing that did add time was juggling the HUGE Senate paper in the small polling booth! :)

But in general - there has to be a better way ...

There was a long queue waiting to tick off names but always spare booths. And yes, the huge paper in the tiny booths wasn't helpful. One lady came barreling into the booth next to me and shook everything. I'm having a bit of Vertigo at the moment and the booth moving made me grab the bench so I didn't wobble over. She commented how frail things were. Nope. Just exercise a bit of restraint.

Ah, looks like we've travelled about the same. :)

I started tracking my flights since 2006, and I've also just passed a round-trip to the moon, or just over 500,000 miles.

I know that's peanuts compared to many others here, but still, I'm chuffed. :)

Apart from that, my stats report:
  • At about 48% of my flights, my most used airline is Qantas (if QantasLink is included, it is just over 50%)
  • The aircraft accounting for most of my flights is the Boeing 737-800, at 25%, which comes as no surprise to anyone. 10% of my flights are on the Boeing 737-400, and at 5%, the Boeing 737-300.
  • My most travelled route is BNE/SYD.

No, I never want electronic voting. Too easy to hack and change the result. I like paper. It can be counted and recounted if need be. And no hanging chads.

How about people ticking instead of numbering? Not numbering enough boxes or too many? Plenty of ways to mess up paper votes unintentionally.

Well I walked in and 3 minutes had my paper. Bumped the last beside me trying to fill out senate paper. Longest time was spent wrapping up the senate paper to put in the tiny hole!

Not impressed a sausage sizzle charging $3....... Is it not $2 standard charge..... As it is in NY

From my time working as a polling official one tick followed by numbers I think was ok. But happy to be corrected by anyone with more current info.

Inflation. 2.50 seems about right to me, 3 also OK, but I haven't seen the going rate at bunnings recently.

Yeah I too don't like electronic voting.

For me its 2.67 x distance, with 26 times around the world. (Wonder what the FF points & SCs would be for that kind of mileage??)
Funny when I see it like that I now realise why family and friends used to ask if I was "visiting" ADL or just on a stopover when we caught up . . . . . .

But that is unintentional. If you can't figure out how to vote I don't think you should. Electronic voting introduces a heap of issues.

Picked up my new ride last Wednesday, used a good old fashioned bank cheque for the bulk of the payment, apart from the deposit which was on my amex back in April last year. Anyway I love it, but as there is now a long waiting list stretching out until the end the end of 2017, maybe I should sell it for a nice profit! :)
