I might be very tired at the moment and struggling to keep awake, but I'm alert enough to know that that is just plain stupid.

Maybe the driver was also tired and struggling to keep awake ;) Airport apron type incidents are actually reasonably frequent. At least the good thing is that with the work culture and rules forcing any incident to be alerted to other staff, people don't end up flying in a plane with a crack in the side...

Sounds more like plane stupid to me.:mrgreen:

So the old rocker is off to Brisvegas tonight and catching up with fleetwood mac.
Now for those political animals out there when and how did Fleetwood Mac star in politics?

Promise I didn't look it up (which may become apparent if/when I'm wrong ), but did they not associate themselves with Bill Clinton's campaign?

... A catering truck hitting an aircraft? Honestly! The driver should be given right-royal dressing down - I might be very tired at the moment and struggling to keep awake, but I'm alert enough to know that that is just plain stupid.
Happened to me about 7 years ago.

Back then it was 10 SC MEL/BNE or MEL/SYD so I'd always booked two end on end returns MEL-SYD and SYD-BNE.

Anyway, one eveing in BNE there was an announcement that my 5:30 SYD flight was delayed 45 minutes (due to SYD ATC needs) and for PAX to approach the desk. Normally I would stick with the booked flight, but I needed to link with the 9:00pm SYD-MEL International flight on a separate booking. So I approached the desk and was put on the 5:45 flight, 737 in an aisle seat around row 22.

I boarded and was seated - then the announcement that a catering truck had hit the aircraft and it was not going anywhere and for PAX to recheck at the service desk.

Well there was 100 PAX in front of me and by the time I got to the desk, all that was available was the 7:00pm flight. (FWIW, my original flight left only 15 minutes late - utilizing the slot vacated by the flight I had moved to).

I handed over printed copies of both my e-tickets and at my request was happily was rebooked on the last direct flight BNE-MEL that evening.
(BNE-SYD availability was by then nuked, they were happy to do so.)

Of course, back then, ODU's were available from any revenue class, so I burnt some point and travelled back in Style! :p

Well, finally back home after a long, six week trip that took me to the other side of the world (Europe), and also to the other side of the Tasman.

Our flight QF634 left on time, but in the air we were informed that "in order to get this flight out on time, only limited catering has been loaded for this flight". The CSM repeated this and apologised to all pax.

The meal was rissole with mashed potato, although it was not as nice and tasty as I last remembered it. It was credibly edible, just not as nice (and a bit more gloppy on the top than I last recall). Some of the trays must have been rushed because half of my tray was damp (since everything is sealed up, nothing - save for the red paper tray underlay - was affected). I think special meal pax didn't get their meals, although later some of the FAs were offering J mini side salads for those affected pax (e.g. vegetarians).

The flight was completely packed, even in J. Don't even get started with the overhead bin space... thankfully with my two pieces, my fellow pax in 4B allowed me to slip a bag in the space underneath the seat in front of him.

Say G'day to Mini NM#1 while you are there. He is working there today and asked "who is Fleetwood Mac?" before heading off to work this morning. I just suggested it would be a different gig to The Wiggles he had there yesterday ;) - though he's probably in for just as late a finish as last night - he arrived home around 2am after bumping out and prepping for FM today.

Close enough.Bill had the song "Don't Stop" as his campaign song in 1992.He got the band to reform and perform it at his inaugural ball in 1993.The song was also played again at the Democratic conventions of 2000 and 2008 to introduce Bill C.
Serfty got close(? by accident). It is from the Rumours album.
Last night Boondall was full of old grey hairs and balding men-certainly would have been different from a Wiggles concert.Unfortunately MiniNM#1 didnt introduce himself:shock:.Going with the age of the audience I can report that every stretch from the Sunshine Coast was at Boondall last night.

Well you just put yourself in it.Christine McVie was the writer and performer of Don't Stop.;)
Of course! However, L'il Stevie wrote "I Don't Want to Know", "Gold Dust Woman", "Dreams" and had a part in the writing of "The Chain"; all from the same Album.

Which reminds me to chase up Qantas over an un-refunded ticket of mine. 8 weeks and counting now.

I think they're upset I cancelled the ticket, then 2 mins later re-booked it ;)

Hump Day!

No more big shows until January, so I'm kind of at a loss what to do in the office now...

Well you can look forward to Brisbane AFF drinks night; so the day won't be a complete loss.

I find the more holidays I take the less money I spend at work; so the less work I do the less money I spend and if I am away from the office my suppliers can't ring me for money. ;)

Well, no Amex postcards telling me of great offers.

I got two preapproval notices - one for increase of credit limit and one for a Platinum card. Oh, and the Air NZ / Amex promo and one about products you can buy with your MR points

:rolleyes::rolleyes:

You'll be unsurpised to learn we got the same meal, complete with wet trays and runny gravy, on qf634 last sunday night. We werent running late (al least, not until after pushback - see post earlier in this thread.

All the major flying related events are over for the year so its onto next year.

No more flying for at least 4 weeks; how can anyone cope with that.

Trying to get a new air conditioner installed in our factory/office and they have suggested they can fit it on the 14 and 15 January 2010, great same time as FT Sin Do.

But it doesn't end there, my cousin now living in the US is off to New Zealand for 2 weeks and I should come and visit; the weekend Feb 20 and Feb 21 sound like good days to come over. :-| I am sure those dates are familiar to some people.

Don't you hate it when real life gets in the way of things you plan on the internet. ;)
