The totally off-topic thread

I have a similar experience with it all gradually getting worse years later.

I had a rough trot at the time also as within hours of being released from hospital I got the blood nose from hell. This was eventually contained then started again almost immediately. The pain of the things they stuck up my nose was about 12 on a scale of 1-10 and I could see blood in my eyes.

An extra 3 then 4 days in hospital.

Not a fun time at all.

Fortunately all the packing etc. for mine was done while I was knocked out under the GA!

I don't know if it has already been posted but I just saw a news flash that an Emirates plane is on fire in Dubai

I think I heard that all passengers got off safely

Friend went to a Chiro. Can't walk now.

Yeah chiro seem to be dodgy as all...
they was one who recently "worked" on a 3 month old to treat colic. Something seriously wrong with that. Why is my health insurance money being used to pay for them?

That's a very good question. Health Insurance should not be providing cover for unproven complementary health care IMO. Chiropractic can be useful in treating back pain, the rest is placebo.
Don't get me started on Homeopathy though as I'll never stop !!

I though Private Health had cut back significantly on complementary treatments?

Private health cover is a joke.... my cover says I can buy 1 blood glucose meter every 2 years to the value of $250 ..... but they cost less than $60

Even worse, the cards "expire" after a few years and you have to buy a new one.

Before my recent trip, I found an old Oyster card in the drawer and took it along. When I put it on the reader at LHR to see if it still worked, not only did I have nine pounds of credit on it, but it also told me that it was last used in APRIL 2005. A Myki would have been long dead. I was rather chuffed, and also annoyed about how ****ty Myki is in comparison. (and also that the govt recently renewed the contract for Myki with the idiots who cough*ed it up in the first place and didn't go with the people who did Oyster, who HAD tendered)

I heard a certain ex football KING stopped his supply of cocaine to his ex fiancee and this resulted in the breakup.....
Seriously girls.....leopard spots.....whoops my mistake your bottle blonde :-|

Staying busy going through all this has been very helpful really. It's still sinking in of course, and it comes in waves. But dealing with the practicalities has been much better than I ever expected.

Your post reminds me of what I went through after my own father died suddenly. I think it actually helps the grieving process a great deal.

even better is a medical item I use that costs $300 to $500 and is recommended to be replaced every 24 months. Health insurance won't cover that as it is disposable.

I dragged mine out from 2013 and still had enough credit to get from LHR to the city. Much better system.

Homeopathy is *SO* potent.

I took a snifter of Johnny Walker Blue, diluted it 120 times, shaking it gently between each dilution step, then took a sip of the finished product - wow: so strong it knocked me out within minutes. Way over 0.05 blood alcohol in seconds !

Just love delays. First of 9 flights delayed ~35 minutes and counting. Lucky I had ~2h30m in BKK. Miss that flight and kiss the other 7 flights goodbye.

A Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) pilot has managed to capture the exact moment he fired a high-tech missile in a perfectly timed coughpit selfie.

Flight Lieutenant Todd 'Woody' Woodford took the spectacular picture inside his EA-18G Growler during a live fire exercise off the Californian coast.
