JohnK - laugh about it. Not worth blowing your cool. Dont expect people to behave as you behave and you wont be disappointed. Or angry.
Put simply some people behave like animals and expect to get away with it at all times if they play ignorant. Most people don't want confrontation and don't complain.

We know everyone is in a hurry to get out of there. If I am there first then don't push in front of me. Walk to the other side of the carousel where no one is waiting and you will get your bag 5-10 metres later but that is way too logical for them.

I arrived in Melbourne today on a Q400 at gate 28 or 30. I was second off the aircraft and walked quickly to the baggage carousel to arrive just in time to see my bag arrive. Truely amazing.

straitman our priority baggage tag did not work well in JFK. The bag came out at about 299th. We have never had a first.

I got home on Friday, didn't do my laundry, went out to look at houses Saturday, didn't do my laundry, went out for dinner and drinks Saturday night, didn't do my laundry, went for a bike ride Sunday, didn't do my laundry. It gets to Sunday night and I'm going away for work in the morning - my laundry still hasn't done itself...

Outrageous - I hate being a grown up.

You are like me with some office work I brought home with me, only just starting it now, should take about 2 hours.

The grown up part is fine, I just work with idiots.

According to Melbourne airport it was probably Gate 28, although you did arrive 2 hours later than you were originally meant to arrive, your original aircraft didn't arrive until 3:31pm, at gate 25.

I feel your pain! I'd avoided my work laptop all weekend instead preferring to sleep in, have a manicure and binge watch some Netflix.

But managed to get it done, grabbed brownie points for working Sunday night as boss was emailing me (from overseas) and rewarding myself with another Episode of Suits.

But my washing for the week is only half done...

My thoughts are with you GarrettM - not having lost a parent yet, I know that I will feel that grief at some stage.

I always had a challenging relationship with my Dad until my cancer scare in 2000. If was at that point he realised that I needed to do things "my way" not "his way". Ever since, I kiss and hug my Dad every time we see one another - as I'll never know if it's the last time (he's 85).

I saw him yesterday and gave him a special hug, as he'd just come back from Noosa, looking after his twin brother for the weekend (who has terminal cancer). I can see the change in him. Life is short.

My 69yo dad died this morning after a massive heart attack. I didn't get a chance to tell him I loved him, despite trying to find the right time for ages. Please don't make that mistake.

On a brighter note, it's Brett Godfrey's birthday today (ex-CEO of Virgin Blue/Australia) - wished him congratulations. Would love to get him on AFF or to an AFF function - I have an idea forming....

You couldn't make this stuff up! Poor woman, after suffering the unimaginable indignity of being raped, she gets locked up. If this is true and I realize there is absolutely no compensation that would be enough, I hope she gets millions..... Why doesn't it surprise me that it allegedly happened in Texas.

A rape victim in Texas was jailed after breaking down in the middle of testifying against her rapist

Rape victim put in jail after breakdown on witness stand

Attorney of jailed rape victim says DA lied in video statement

A more befitting punishment might be imprisonment of the defending parties, but frankly I don't hold much for this woman winning this case against the justice system. A gingerly discussed settlement might be her best outcome.

This one is difficult as it seems to stem from an apparent mental condition but not being there to understand how it could work out that way is confusing. The part about her being treated as an offender rather than a victim in jail, however, boggles the mind; if true, someone needs to have their legs broken for that.

SWMBO relayed a story from Saudi or Pakistan over the weekend. the girl was given 50 lashes for being raped.

God some companies are way too smart for themselves.

CBA wants $350 to attend settlement of sale of apartment next week. LOL. What next?

Aer Lingus lost these guys bikes.

Well they make 9.5 billion last year.
Good for them.

They won't make $350 from me. I will defer settlement (not nice thing to do) or spend twice that amount and lose a day of annual leave to come and collect the documents.

Oh and they have just lost the settlement money too. Easy come. Easy go.

P.S. My stubborness knows no limits. I won't be a pushover.

Fortunately I have a good relationship with my parents.

My grandmother's sister passed on Sunday morning, so we are all in mourning at the moment. My sister is particularly upset, but I flew up to work today.

That is standard across all banks and includes a document production fee. I was PO'ed at the $250 NAB wanted a few years ago. Especially, as part of the deal was being charged a fee for production of documents (i.e. title) for my guarantor. Problem was NAB no longer held the title document as the guarantor had paid out their mortgage long ago.

In any case, you will pay a fee for them to "produce" the documents. I don't even know what this means these days as the titles register is fully electronic in most states.

I still have both my parents but they are in there mid to late 70's and health overall very good. Dad is actually fitter and healthier than he was 15 years ago. He goes to the gym everyday and does 3 PT session a week

On a warm Sunday afternoon in Times Square there were several young ladies who had painted their upper bodies. I thought I should post this to boost the tourist trade between our two nations.
