I got home on Friday, didn't do my laundry, went out to look at houses Saturday, didn't do my laundry, went out for dinner and drinks Saturday night, didn't do my laundry, went for a bike ride Sunday, didn't do my laundry. It gets to Sunday night and I'm going away for work in the morning - my laundry still hasn't done itself...

Outrageous - I hate being a grown up.

In other news, [affordability aside], looking at houses is a time consuming and generally painful process.

How <expletive> hard is it for people to understand basic train etiquette: let everyone off the train first by standing to the side and providing clear passage for those disembarking to get out, then proceed to board the train.
Best you never go to China mate if this get's you upset.

20 years living in Sydney turned us into property hounds ... love squeezing in a couple of inspections a week.

The agents in QLD are very lazy!

I got really angry at the luggage carousel yesterday and got a few people angry.

Sick and tired of people moving inside the yellow line and standing in front of me so I cannot see luggage on carousel. Stupid selfish morons. Stand back and everyone can see their luggage coming out on carousel. Lost my cool. Had some heated discussions with a few waiting.

Just as well customs officers didn't come over to intervene.

JohnK - laugh about it. Not worth blowing your cool. Dont expect people to behave as you behave and you wont be disappointed. Or angry.

You need one of those washer dryer combos - load and start at night before bed and it's dry by the morning or about 4 hours. The dryer is an energy efficient condenser or condenser-heat pump types.

Here is a J class one:

Different ball game there. Chinese have nearly no concept of queues. I could probably punch someone out in China and nothing will happen, too.

Japanese trains work with fantastic efficiency and etiquette (bar perhaps one rather big chestnut).

With a higher population density than Australia, how is it that we can't get it right? Unless we are a "pushing" culture too, similar to our fellow AFF member's experience at the baggage carousel, i.e. stuff the etiquette, just push to get your way, everyone else can go to forfeit.

Sounds like you know where you are this week - do you know where you will be the week after yet ?

I know what flights I have booked, but that's only a rough indication.

Will probably be Darwin and Sydney, but who knows.

I almost lost my cool the other day at the train station.

How <expletive> hard is it for people to understand basic train etiquette: let everyone off the train first by standing to the side and providing clear passage for those disembarking to get out, then proceed to board the train.

Thankfully a little bit of light pushing was all that was required for people to get the hint, otherwise I would have never been able to get off the train.
Oh and no one ever gets out of an elevator.

Next time someone doesn't wait for me to get out of elevator first I am going to press every single floor button on my way out.

Probably a good idea, but it doesn't show the claw which unpacks your bag and throws things into said washer - dryer combo?

I will be in Darwin - I will find out tomorrow if I'm in the city or out in camp accommodation

While it is a good advice to laugh at other people's behaviour, laughing still does not get you out of the train/elevator etc - I use a very loud booming voice "let people off first " as I barge through. I don't deviate from my straight line and will "shirtfront" the wayward entrant and repeat mantra until he/she moves aside.

I wonder if the lounges will do a laundry service?. - drop off in the morning and pick up later in the day.
4 comps a year for WP and free for P1?.

I have managed to get lounge Angel to iron my shirt at SYD DOM J twice.

Now, that would be a service.

Good hotels can launder clothes and have them pressed and hanging up when you check in. Unfortunately they tend to charge the GDP of a small country for the privilege (PHS is excellent, but the price is certainly on the high side).

Hire help.

How on earth did you manage that? I would never even have thought to ask.

I'm more thinking what use is there to have an iron and ironing board in a lounge complex? I wouldn't have even suspected that the F Lounge has such a facility or equipment.

They might be catering for the CLs but I still would have never suspected it.

I know that the QF HKG Lounge offers a pressing service for the P1s.

Something as mundane as an iron?. Why not - that would be a tangible enhancement. Obviously cannot be advertised. Doesn't cost anything.
Lounges offer : place to call "home", food, drink, relaxation, some have day spa, TV, Internet. I reckon an iron/board is not mutually exclusive.

Also it's offered behind that "Private" tinted glass sliding door as well.
YMMV as usual
