The good SA premier has invited me nominate for the Nuclear Fuel Cycle Royal Commission Citizens' jury. Yay.
Minor problem that I'll be in Asia for one of the weekends. More than happy to back for the weekend if they select me.

Excellent.

Sitting in a Qantas business lounge, reminded of a line from Allo Allo - Herr Flick: "Vhy is this mutton dressed as lamb"

I have been watching the Allo Allo series on QLink flights - up to series 5 episode 24 and loving it. I think the FA's laugh at me as much as I laugh at it (often with tears rolling down my face )

I assume it will be more enjoyable after (and during) a bottle (or so) of Tat, Verve, etc?

ps. Is it possible to do a lounge crawl at either PTJ & WMB or maybe both together?

Edit: Roger, roger ...

Surely, you can't be serious?

Anyone here get a real kick out of ironing clothes?
For some reason all my Aff notifications were going to spam - just worked that out. I am now catching up and had to comment on this :). Very early in our relationship (close to 40 years ago), I ironed one of Mr FM's shirts and left it out for him to wear. He felt it wasn't good enough and ironed it again. Since then he has done all the ironing.

Ah. I think that is just started to happen with my emails too. Something in the settings must have changed.

How's the mother of the bride going, Flying Mermaid?
Yay - I am allowed to talk on this one aren't I. :)

Was very stressed for awhile over the Blue Mountains scenario - the more we looked at things the more stressed I got. Apart from no electricity, there wasn't even water that we could use! After two weeks of not sleeping, I had another go at suggesting a change in venue. Fortunately it turned out Breenhold weren't keen to have it at Easter either and had become very uncooperative. So I managed to get the whole thing swapped to Jaspers near Berry. Absolutely fantastic - they do everything and the wedding party and special guests can even stay onsite the night before and on the night. So I am now relaxed and sleeping again :)

I think everything is under control and the only real thing left is for me to find a dress! I am going to look for one in Singapore in October. This YouTube sums up the whole wedding experience for me :)

don't know - I vaguely knew I wasn't getting notifications, but hadn't thought of checking spam. I have now marked them as not spam and they seem to be coming through again. I thought it was finger trouble on my part. I am going to have to catch up a bit at a time as there are a lot of posts!

Very amusing and so true :)

Want to see a photo of the mother of the bride outfit when you get it! (Good luck in Singapore)

Excellent.

It seems like a big shotgun approach. heap of people invited from which they pick only 350 to actually be part of it.
I reckon I have a very small chance to actually get onto the jury. But I do have the return flight options decided... ;)

mrsdoc has ironed a total of one of my shirts for each year we're been married.

Do you use Kaspersky? My notifications started being designated spam after one update. Had to teach it to leave AFF alone, although no rule or other work around will stop it calling notifications for this thread 'spam'

ESET Nod32 for the machines and these days just google inbox for email. We seem to get less spam and viruses with gmail than when we had our own email and paid for spam protection. (IINET)

Saw Matilda tonight. I am in awe of the 9 year old who pretty much carried the show. She is just 7 years older than my zany niece. Unbelievable.

New one on me ...

Departing DL First SEA to LAX and they had trouble sourcing a bottle opener for the promotional IPA beer (glass bottle ... no screw cap! ).

Seems one of the aircrew had the requisite device ... crisis averted (other brew option was miller light).

Was out this morning when I discovered a nail in one of my tyres. RACV have been to change it, but have told me my tyre might not be repairable. Its only a few months old. And I'm missing yum cha :(

Nothing serious but just about fed up.

I know life is no bed of roses but after a relatively stress free day yesterday, life thinks it's time for another curve ball today. Seriously? Isn't there a criminal or someone else you can go annoy today?

No amount of sugar coating makes life more enjoyable. And yes I know there are people worse off especially a few on AFF who I am thinking about right now. What's worse is not drinking. I need a 2-3 week holiday so I can have a drink or 2....

Similar issue on a car with less than 1K on the clock, tyre shop said if the nail was 1cm to the left it had to be replaced ... has to be something to do with low profile tyres.. i am guessing
