But ask yourself why the majority of the 1%ers in the US are publicly speaking out for and funding HC.
If you believe it is because they are as pure as the driven snow then I have 50 bridges for sale.
They know they will do much better with her at the helm.In 2015 the 1%ers got 91% of the increase in incomes that year under Obama compared with 65% in 2007 under GWB.

Ah geez. You do realise the changes made by Dubba is essentially why the rich keep getting richer whilst the middle class is gutted in the USA?

Rahm Emanuel, Obama’s hyperkinetic first chief of staff, liked to say that President Bush had left them a ribbon-wrapped gift of a cough sandwich: two wars, the worst recession in living memory and a disastrous international reputation.

Actually a lot of financial commentators suggest it was due to bill Clinton and repeal of the Glass-Steagall act particularly sections 20 and 32.They included Joseph Stiglitz an Economics Nobel laureate. Not all agree particularly those in banking.
The financial sector in the US went from ~24% of total profits in 1998 to ~ 42% in 2006.Then hit a little bad weather but taking off again.
Rahm Emanuel is not an unbiased commentator and he would say that wouldn't he.

Just found out an old family friend has died after picking up a parasite in Borneo. A very active woman in her 80s, she probably travelled more than most people I know (and thats saying something). Very sudden and unexpected :-|

Sand compacted. Weed cloth going in. Collect gravel base tomorrow, and then install play mats after that. Followed by outdoor blackboard and some other bits and pieces. ToddlerGM will then have the time of her life. And then we'll sell it all from out beneath her. Life is cruel.

I am sorry to hear that blackcat20. It does sound though that she died as a consequence of doing what she loved - travel - and who could wish for more.

Goodness, if you ever need to make an insurance claim, the best time to do it is after a wide scale 'disaster'. Insurance company currently going above and beyond. And so much for me saying last Reno job that I was retiring from working with tradies.

Another silly mistake.

Applied for citizenship by descent for daughter and tourist visa for wife. Daughter can't visit Australia until she has Australian passport which has to be applied in Bangkok after citizenship is granted. The citizenship could take a month.

I am back in a week until end of month but citizenship won't be ready. I am back in November but was hoping to take them both back with me. That's not going to happen unless we apply for Thai passport and include daughter in wife's tourist visa application. But Thai passport can also take 10 days by which time the wife's tourist visa application would have been processed so cannot add daughter to that application.

Headache. May have to come back again in December to bring them back to Australia. I am tired. She'll be almost 3 months. Mum and dad can't wait.

Sounds pretty normal, I have 3 kids, one is 18 now, Mum and Dad have been tired for 18 years - welcome to normal parenthood - the best thing you will ever do :)

Condolences Blackcat, that is very bad news. She must have been an amazing woman.

That isnt exactly relevant. We have different laws here.

That sounds very naive.

Politics of clothing and budgie smugglers I am not naive just s--t tired of minor stuff like the budgie 9 might having to face 2 years prison. I am not agreeing with what they have done but they have not hurt anyone. It's a culture clash so deporting them is appropriate imho.

I don't like Australian government actively on national tv "not supporting its citizens" overseas it's dangerous.
Will challenge anyone on this, So Pushka naivety is seen by persons who themselves are naive.

Malaysia should be more tolerant of dressing down like we are of dressing up in Australia.

Oops. Mum and dad can't wait.

I'm a useless father. She's a difficult daughter. Can't get her to go to sleep. Around 6-7hours last night and has been going a couple of hours today. Just cries and cries. She is full. No idea what she wants. Feel sorry for wife.

Life ...... usually there is a reason either some tummy pain or wet nappy spring to mind. But hey I sympathise .... life and Mother Nature. Weird mix !

sorry to hear that - one of the downsides of going to more adventurous places. Sounds like she had a very full life.

Mum's taking it hard. She always joined the family on holidays when they were young. I guess you'd almost consider her an aunt.

I am sorry to hear that like FM above. Black cat do you have more details which parasite was the cause or precipitated the demise.

it is perfectly normal. I had 8.5 years of broken sleep until mine slept through the night. She is very little - it takes awhile for them to sort out night and day and some babies are just more needy and want body contact or whatever. In Australia there are mothercraft people who teach new mothers settling techniques etc, unfortunately I didn't find out about them until way too late.

Also babies can be sensitive to your stress and you can get on a merry go round, where her crying makes you tense and then she cries because she senses your tension. I found going outside helped me - it relaxed me and then my babies seemed to relax.

Remember she is not difficult and you are not useless - this is all part of a new baby. I remember the nurse at the baby health clinic saying you threw a party when you got to 3 months as life gets a little easier....

Today I was reminded of why I don't need a pet.both on Sunday and today I went out removing weeds from the garden.I didn't do any mimicking of bird calls as I usually do.On both occasions a figbird comes and sits on the fence and starts a raucous screeching.I did my imitations of a figbird call,it did an imitation of my imitation and then flew off.
Today I was sitting on a step weeding the terrace garden.hear a rustling and a large blue tongue comes and settles down right beside me.I suspect the one I saved from drowning about 18 months ago.
Nature is wonderful.

Driving to SYD last week we stopped at traffic lights adjacent to Moore Park. This peewee flies up and settles on the wing mirror of a car that had huge cobwebs.busied itself picking things out and when the lights turned green flew back to the grass.I think a lot of animals are a lot smarter than we give them credit for.
