Bogans or just idiots, one of them definitely should have known better.

Christopher Pyne staffer Jack Walker among group arrested for stripping down to Malaysian flag swimmers at Formula One - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

Being drunk is not a valid excuse imo. Oh the joys of being a consular officer and having to deal with cough like this!

Imagine how our media would react especially the likes of the 'tele' if foreigners did this to our flag at the Australian G.P.

One of the guys is a political advisor to Christopher Pyne.

Watching Australias Next Top Model and I weep for the younger generation.

Judge: Today, you will be modelling

Girls: Sqqueeeeelllllllll. Im SOOO shocked!

Judge: Tomorrow you will be having photos done

Girls: Sqeueeeeelllllllll. I wasnt expecting that!

Why are they so surprised? Did they sign up for The Block and found themselves here by accident?

So I was like, well, I mean, Yes No, like, really?

I think it was our internet as son came down later and said he was having issues too. But not on all websites. It was like our router was blocking US sites. Fixed now.

Police are on the look out for nine endangered animals thought to be a common species of Australian budgerigar thought to like warm enclosures. Often seen with two oddballs, they are wanted for questioning on a range of issues.

Sorry, I don't find it amusing at all, if one of them is a staffer of a high profile parliamentarian, that makes it a damn site worse and one has to wonder what advise this particular individual was dispensing to his 'boss', as i said earlier, imagine the the furore that rupe's rags would unleash if this had happened in Australia, in particular if they had been muslims.
There is a lot about Malaysia that I don't like, their lack of a transparent democracy is a major concern for one, without even venturing in accusations of corrupt politicians and the like, but if you go there don't expect the same standards that you have at home. This is exactly as I would like to see in this country, you come here, you abide by our rules and the expectations of the general public, if not, be prepared to suffer the consequences.

Stupid drunk young people. Nothing more. Nothing less. Throw them in jail for a couple of days. That's all.

Although that can happen to anyone that drinks too much. Perhaps just idiot?

No, I don't agree, excess consumption of alcohol is definitely not an excuse, in particular doing something as stupid as this in a country that doesn't share the same relaxed attitudes to alcohol as we do (whether we agree or not with their rules is beside the point). If this had been in Saudi, who knows what the outcome would be, public flogging perhaps?

And no, I'm not an apologist for their ridiculous views on alcohol consumption (or other absurd laws, imo), but if you are a visitor, then you have to abide by the rules of the country you are visiting, regardless fo whether you think it is right or wrong.

Sorry Pushka, I don't agree, especially given the position of one of them, as I said earlier, being drunk in a country that has different views on alcohol consumption than we do is no excuse, lock them up.
If it had happened in the UK with the union jack, it may have well have been taken differently, in Asia, definitely not.

OK JK, I dare you to have a few too many Changs and then in a public place in Thailand set fire to a Thai bank note, after all it's all just a bit of fun, no Thai bank note is worth more than what an Australian has!

You of all people should know how important 'face' is to people in Asia.

I said they should put them in jail so not sure the disagreement. They were stupid. They were also drunk. They were disrespectful. It will be tested if they actually broke any laws. And we also see bikinis made from the Aussie flag. Any different?

Mooning soon to be banned in Melbourne.

Furthermore, myself, a person who looks decidedly male but if I was to believe tha I am an actual female, I soon will be allowed to adorn a pair of budgie smugglers in the female swimming pool change rooms and go for a swim. Afterwards, I can use the female restrooms if I like.

You gotta love our premier don't ya ? Which two nuts give him advice?

Any different - of course it is. You ever seen the map of Tassie on a bikini ? Nope, didn't think so. That isn't a true blue Aussie flag them.

Don't know about you, but I've seen the Australian flag adorning T shirts, bathers, bikinis, boxer shorts ... all in the public gaze here in Australia. Big deal!

Bit of an over-reaction by all parties, methinks. What's a 'tele' in this context?

A staffer of a high profile parliamentarian. Gosh! Do you think he's been advising Piney to strip off down to his budgies in Parliament? :)

'Rupe's rags' ??? is that like a 'tele'?

I do some stupid things when I am drunk (or have drunk too much) but I would hope that I wouldn't openly offend anyone in public. And if I did do something stupid I would hope that I would be forgiven.

These idiots did a really stupid thing and from the looks of things they organised this stunt of matching speedos when they were sober but how severe should their punishment be for this stunt? Deportation could be more than enough.
