I think I'm done with The Walking Dead.

Tonight's episode was like a ******* ISIS training video, there's nothing entertaining about it.

I love Le Creuset and use my smaller pot a couple of times a week and the large one once a week in winter. Slow cooked curry tastes wonderful.
I love mine and have a few different pots. The smaller one is perfect for slow cooked pulled pork.

I brought a Le Creuset set to Australia once for a friend. It was heavy! (But I had luggage allowance I didn't need to use, and she was relocating back to Oz so happy to help)

Are they still much cheaper in the UK than Australia I wonder?!

I carted one home from the US a few years back, it was half the price of here (especially when we were over 1USD). No issues with a J luggage allowance.

This is what I want - LE CREUSET [h=1]Cast iron tagine

I just might have to get one when I am in California next month ;)

Temporarily using my backup laptop while the main on has some issues sorted. The wrenched backup laptop wants to download about 7,000 e-mails (ie since I last used it).

I really don't want anything sapphire either. I have a sapphire ring already. If it is going to be jewellery - then I would like a morganite ring. I like pink !

Most conveniently, ABC radio today ran a story on the Argyle diamond mine, which is famous for its pink diamonds. The flawless really deep pink colours, the guy said could go for $100,000/ct (ie 1/5 gram) or more. And as the mine will be closing in a few years, they will only get more expensive.

Sounds like NOW is the time to buy. Maybe boomy can do you a deal ...

@RooFlyer. Have you found accommodation at Easter Island yet? I'm still looking but it's depressing.

I didn't know where to ask this but can anyone recommend a cake place on the gold coast that can deliver to the Sheraton Gold Coast?

I've got my wifes 30th surprise weekend away coming up and she loves a pavlova (I don't). I asked the hotel and they told me an 18cm cake is $48 and 24cm cake is $78!!

I think you would be hard pressed to get a good cake/paV for an occasion for less than that.
Though if you like cheesecake.com.au (Cheesecake shop) you should be about to order a cake/dressed pavlova for about $30. Not the best cakes - a bit Jetstar
30 year anniversary - wife will notice cheesecake shop product. Sort of like buying flowers from Servo

Seriously, use one of those pavlova eggs. They really aren't hard to cook, taste ok and dress it up with good quality whipped cream, quality strawberries and break a flake chocolate bar over it.

MrP has a birthday in early Nov and I will be doing this.

My suggestion is go to your (or where the party is) local Facebook Buy, Sell, Swap site and ask about the local home bakers. They can be pretty amazing and you can see the person's feedback to make the choice.

Otherwise, Cheesecake Shop has good product at reasonable prices.

RooFlyer I don't think Ron could afford one of the size I would want - hence the pink morganite  - the one in the photo is 8 carats

We are staying at the Sheraton from Wednesday. Last month when we were there, we had coffee and cake at the Providore at marina Mirage ( across the street from the Sheraton) We will more than likely do that again. According to their website they do cakes to order

Marina Mirage - Providore Bakery

Catering | Providore

I would contact them ASAP

Jeffrey Archer mentioned my uncle in a book.

Interesting...

My daughter and I attended a Dymocks literary event soon after Archer's novel 'To Cut a Long Story Short' was published in 2000.

The book was Not a Penny More, Not a Penny Less and he says his name three times. He was the Oxford University appointed outfitter of Academic Gowns. We visited his showrooms a few years ago.

I read it to be 30 years old birthday celebration, as opposed to a 30 year wedding anniversary given they only recently got married
