We replaced all our office chairs, the problem then is what to do with about 30 office chairs that are old but basically still usable office chairs.
My council allows 12 free pickups per year, I put them at the front of my house with some commercial printers and a few marketing display cases/stands and they were all gone but 2 chairs by the next day. My house was like a druggies pickup. Cars screeched to a halt, people stopped, got out, checked out the stuff, threw it in the car and took off. It was quite amusing to watch.
Told my boss thats why my council has so many free pickups, because we keep swapping other peoples rubbish.
FWIW - in future cases....
As long as they are not ripped or really badly worn (assuming on wheels/rollers) then many local public schools will take them in preference to what the DoE provides teachers (no wheels/rollers and no back support etc). Saw local Council was replacing all their chairs when visiting Town Hall and asked what was happening to them (paying to recycle/break them down) so loaded a few into my car and sure enough local primary school teachers were VERY happy. Until the last one was taken and the word spread through the staff room.
