We replaced all our office chairs, the problem then is what to do with about 30 office chairs that are old but basically still usable office chairs.

My council allows 12 free pickups per year, I put them at the front of my house with some commercial printers and a few marketing display cases/stands and they were all gone but 2 chairs by the next day. My house was like a druggies pickup. Cars screeched to a halt, people stopped, got out, checked out the stuff, threw it in the car and took off. It was quite amusing to watch.

Told my boss thats why my council has so many free pickups, because we keep swapping other peoples rubbish.

FWIW - in future cases....

As long as they are not ripped or really badly worn (assuming on wheels/rollers) then many local public schools will take them in preference to what the DoE provides teachers (no wheels/rollers and no back support etc). Saw local Council was replacing all their chairs when visiting Town Hall and asked what was happening to them (paying to recycle/break them down) so loaded a few into my car and sure enough local primary school teachers were VERY happy. Until the last one was taken and the word spread through the staff room.

Hmmm... I was born last century  and it doesn't work for me ...

Should work... let's say you're 65 years old (i.e. you'll celebrate your 65th birthday this year).

66 - 65 + 50 = 51

So you were born in '51 (or rather, 1951), which is correct.

Of course, if you decide to count differently because your birthday is 29 February, then I can't help you there.

The young ones born in this century need a bit of additional working. For example, someone who is turning 15 this year was born in 2001. If they do the working, they'll get 66 - 15 + 50 = 101. Obviously, they weren't born in the year '101 or 19101; you need to do a bit of mental carrying, or just chop off everything after and including the hundreds place.

It is also a case of it only works AFTER your birthday each year, so best run as a Christmas joke.

Yes, that was expressed earlier in this thread... you have to consider your age of the birthday that you will celebrate in 2016.

I'm not sure their 'adult movies' are true cough (as in an X classification)
I could tell a very funny story about that...on second thought, maybe not.

Yeah probably R rated only. But I recognised a lot of the names on offer, and they are some serious x-rated performers.

I think the same about religion.
Not the same.

I have proof scattered throughout my life including the time I used to stutter as a child and my miracle daughter. Coincidence doesn't mean much to me.

Now that looks tempting! I shall get in touch.
It just seems a waste to buy a full Pavlova when I won't touch it. Will see how I go!
Note: She thinks we are going to the local indian for dinner for her 30th.. :D

So YOU are packing her a bag to take ? Or do you spill the beans before you leave home ? When are you flying up ?

So science has nothing to do with your daughter?

And why do some people achieve their dream of ivf babies and others don't? Is God selective?

Science is just the means/mechanism by which we understand the natural world. So Science has nothing to do with the Sun rising in the East in the sense that science did not cause the sun to rise in the east just the mechanism by which mere mortal like us attempt to understand why it is so.

That's the last piece of the puzzle haha

Not sure which way I'll go yet- thinking I'll tel her on the Thursday night. Fly up Friday night back Sunday night.

Short trip but she puts up with me being away a bit so least I can do.

In true AFF tradition flights are on points ðŸ

You just might see us walking around the Mirage - we will be checking out Saturday !

very sad!!

Four people - that is an awful accident. Such tragedies always seem worse when people are there for the specific purpose of enjoyment. I went on that ride with the 2 kids and my father. Guess those rafts - which are huge - aren't all that safe?

Citizenship for daughter has been granted. Will be sent to wife in next few days.

No, it doesn't work for me. Credit me (and others) with some basic numeracy skills, eh?

Age = 56 (I'll deny it if questioned). Born 1959 (absolutely not).

Lets see ... (gets fingers and toes out) ... 66 minus 56 = 10. 10+50 = 60 With me?

1960 doesn't equal 1959. Quod Erat Demonstrandum

Ah, so it doesn't always work. I was responding to the statement that you quoted unqualified at #56829, that it DID work. That's wrong. Penegal got it right.

And hot on the heels of approval of citizenship for daughter the tourist visa for daughter has been delivered to the village by postman just now. Surprising they have given her 12 months, multiple entry visa.

One happy dad right here. And it goes to show to persevere when you think you are within your rights. Don't give up at first obstacle they put up.

Only 24 more days before daughter can meet her grand parents. They will be long days for my mother but she has been waiting a whole life time so another 3 weeks is not that long. Content that I have been able to give something back to my aging parents.
