And hot on the heels of approval of citizenship for daughter the tourist visa for daughter has been delivered to the village by postman just now. Surprising they have given her 12 months, multiple entry visa.

One happy dad right here. And it goes to show to persevere when you think you are within your rights. Don't give up at first obstacle they put up.

Only 24 more days before daughter can meet her grand parents. They will be long days for my mother but she has been waiting a whole life time so another 3 weeks is not that long. Content that I have been able to give something back to my aging parents.

Congratulations...first grandchild for them?

I've never understood the concept of "upgrading" an engagement ring; to me its the original that holds the sentiment..

Quite right. I've got plenty of other fingers if more stones are thought appropriate.

(Hubby just bought me an eternity ring - I'm pretty chuffed)

I've never thought of updating my engagement ring because well, it's my engagement ring. We had both just started work so it is very simple and just a tiny Diamond but that is what it is.
.
I wouldn't have had a new set except I lost (misplaced) the original one

Remember the old friendship rings that were in vogue in the early 70s or so? I had one and lost it after we were married. One day some years after, I was digging in the vegie patch and up it came on the end of a fork. Lost it again though in the ensuing years :(

Yes and long overdue. Had given up until earlier this year and they are both on a new lease of life.

That's fantastic news. Not long now till you are all in Sydney and Grandma will be over the moon :)
Grandma has been over the moon since we found about about pregnancy and fell in love with grand daughter when she first saw ultrasound early August. Those gorgeous cheeks from ultrasound are even more gorgeous in real life.

Now need to work on daughter being comfortable in dad's arms as much as she is comfortable in any strangers arms.

How do you get the job of the government supervisor to the tatts draw?
Qualifications?
Salary?
Someone ask Google on their new pixel?

Although I thought the embassy said the visa wouldn't be valid in the case they issued citizenship? Confusing.

Well of course you needed to replace it then.

Yes. Friendship rings. I never got one :o

She senses your fear JohnK
Fear of babies? LOL. Once she gets here her dad is going to be way down the list. :(

Thailand confuses me a lot especially when it comes to logic. Will apply for passport the day we are due to leave Thailand for Australia in 4 weeks. The passport should be ready when she returns to Thailand after 3 months.

At least I can apply for Medicare for her now the citizenship has comes through.

That's the last time I post a maths orientated puzzle I saw on FB posted by my Scottish friend !

As a maths teacher (to be), it's hard not to comment or investigate, although if RooFlyer was my boss I guess I would be fed to the crocodiles by now.

I post a few of these "mathematics challenges" or "mathematics magic" things on my Facebook wall, too. Plus I get ideas for use in the classroom.

Luckily the whole shebang didn't get shipped off to the mathematics thread.

So science has nothing to do with your daughter?

And why do some people achieve their dream of ivf babies and others don't? Is God selective?
Don't give science too much credit. I believe Science has nothing to do with the creation of the earth or night and day. As I mentioned I used to stutter when I was a child. It wasn't science that cured me. It was through the church and prayer. Believe what you want. I don't need proof.

We went through a lot with this pregnancy and you know a lot more detail than most people on AFF. It wasn't a coincidence or pure luck that we got there in the end. It was through prayer from people who wanted this to be a success. My daughter is a miracle. The Virgin Mary had a lot to do with it and that is why my daughter's name was dedicated to her. It also happens to be my mother's name.

Human beings do not understand much. We only understand what we see in front of us and what we are told. We are very vulnerable. We live and die. We don't know how we got here. We don't know where all this will lead.

Let's leave it at that as religion is a personal choice not understood by most.
