I've decided that there is a guy in my street who is training for Kokoda as he's too old for a army recruit and he's decked out in full pack, hydration thingy and boots, hiking up and down my street (a hill) and the two huge hills up the road.

I've seen him about a dozen times in the past few weeks, he's on a mission.
Riverwood? Saw a bloke jogging before 7:00am today with huge back pack. Thought it looked strange.

No, I'm in the Hills area.

A guy jogging in the Punchbowl area with a big bag at 7am could just be running from the scene of the crime

Congratulations drron and mrs.dr.ron! That's a long time to be together and still happy.

A parcel I ordered from Amazon took four days to get from ordering, through to Dispatch from California and arrive in Melbourne early Friday morning. So 4 working days.

Now, how many weeks will it take Australia Post to get it from Melbourne to Adelaide CBD. It has already cleared customs.

My bet? Monday next week. So 6 working days.

I posted a parcel in Melbourne on October 18, destined for NSW. It is still bouncing back and forth between NSW and VIC every day or two, with no delivery date in sight...

I had one like that too. It was an express envelope. When calling them, the operator said if the postal worker doesn't scan then there is no tracking. What a fabulous service that is!
It eventually turned up at the correct location. But Australia Post did not know that. About 2 months later I received a free Express envelope from Australia Post. To replace the one that they lost! While not relevant for my situation as it did eventually arrive, I wonder what I would have put in it as the goods were already gone.

I got told that when the scanner cant read the label properly, it keeps bouncing back and forth. The label was printed from their system so Im not sure what the issue is. They told after 5 bounces it would be manually redirected. We're well over 10 bounces now, one phonecall, one online complaint, and its still out there. And I cannot replace the contents as that was the last of that fabric.

Pathetic......

I thought it was rather curious that this was the "compensation" or "guarantee" if your Express Post didn't actually work. A refund would have been more circumspect, but in the guise of most of the other major merchants we deal with, it's likely that's asking too much.

I don't know what's worse - lost mail, mail which doesn't get delivered until it's found not MIA, or posties stealing or opening up mail.

Either way, Australia Post would have you believe that we don't seem to pay enough for them to render a reliable service, though the irony is that it wasn't all this "unreliable" a matter of a few years ago.

Ive posted this before but cant find it:

Bought a DVD player off Amazon one night. DVD location SDF. My location: mountain resort up a snow covered mountain road 3 hours from DEN
Time of purchase 2200 hrs
Time of delivery 1100 hrs the next day - signed by lobby manager.

At 0300 it was at DEN airport (aka Commerce City)

Delivery cost: free "standard delivery" UPS I think.

In Australia we use airbag delivery for items as it is fast and very reliable for smaller items up to 3Kgs.
Australia Post is being trashed by an idiot.

Which airbag colour do you use,

A blue one from Startrack, a orange one from TNT or a white/green one from Toll.

For outbound our most common colour is the orange one from TNT.

Like anything when it works it can work really well but every so often like 1 in 50, the balls just end up on the ground and it might take a few days to recover and find its home.
