One of the best experiences we've had! I recommend Tromsø ... gorgeous city and perfect for light chasing.

I'm planning to go here in late Nov 2017...how many nights do you recommend?

Was wondering whether there should be a where are you going in 2017 thread? I'm always interested in reading about what adventures others have planned.

Why don't you start one? I've got something I can contribute :). And I'm sure Rooflyer will make something up :p.

I'd recommend you don't do what we did and take a massive punt on only a two night visit. It worked out fine for us however, it could have easily turned pair shape. Tromsø / Norway has plenty on offer, so you wouldn't have any problems filling a weeks worth of activities that allow you to take advantage of seeing the lights when they start running.

Truly wonderful experience that you will not regret - enjoy!

You probably have seen my TR, however if not ... http://www.australianfrequentflyer....e-and-chasing-lights-72682-9.html#post1388417

Cooking.... A high end stand type mixer - anything else is "gravy".

And anyone who took an organic chemistry course will remember the hot plate magnetic stirrers... Or has the cost of lab equipment gone up as much as the tuition fees in the last 50 years?

Happy wandering

Well they have that fandangled thing called a thermomix.

Mixer as in Kitchenaid?

I love my Kitchenaid.

Day 3 and I managed 3 walks this week - still a huffing, puffing mess at the top of the hill but its 3 more than I did last week :)

NAB has finally credited the dodgy transactions on my credit card, which means I will cancel it this afternoon.

I am 49c in debit, and a small transfer which I did last week hasn't yet appeared in the account. Although my Bankwest account tells me it was processed last week.

Which means I'll need to go into the bank to give them a 50c coin.

Ugh.

Get one second hand if you really want - you can save plenty.

I reckon there's an 80% markup on landing costs for the units sold here in Oz.

SWMBO defends hers - she must as it's rarely used.

Personally I I'd save my money ...
Mr FM reckons all Thermomix owners are secretly cult members.....However ours is used pretty much daily and he enjoys the spoils.

i enjoy the fact that I chop, cook and blend in the same bowl and then put it all n the dishwasher (after emptying the bowl :) ), and walk away. Life has never been so easy.

I bought Dr FM one and she has now stopped living on takeaways. She comes home from the hospital, throws the ingredients in, goes and has a shower and dinner is ready when she gets out.
