The totally off-topic thread

This happened more than 10 years ago (I left teaching in 2007 or 2008) so things will have changed a lot since then and I can image a totally different course of action now. Being a girls' school it was important to call the police. Because it was so cold (5 C) most of the students were elsewhere but the few hardy smokers who would hide out in the area thought it was hysterical. None of them got anyway near the streaker who was absolutely terrified as he made his way across the oval apparently. The number of students who decided to have lunch in that quad increased exponentially the next day :)

Indeed. Times have changed. We lived near a creek. I was about 12 and neighbour girlfriend was about 10. We peered over our side fence and low and behold there was a guy exposing himself. We just laughed and didn't even tell my parents. These days it would rate a mention on the TV.

Laughed or giggled?

Depending on your character when you were that age and the appearance of the guy in question, the contemporary thing might have been to sneak a quick snap, possibly shared via Snapchat.

Of course, you still wouldn't tell your parents.

P.S. "'Low' and behold..." - nice pun...

You are right. Giggled. And kept peeking. I suspect that might actually be a good strategy rather than being shocked, which would have been their intent.

All good at home on the farm (though home alone) Fire getting close to work though.
Must admit though while laying in bed last night - had the "fire list" running thru my head knowing today would be a doosey, and I have had my "fire clothes/boots" on the hook ready to go, hoses laid out around the house. Which of course means I am prepared, - and nothing will happen.

Good to hear that things are ok BB. I am often amazed when I see people on the news hosing fires at their places and see that they have shorts and tank tops on with no proper footwear. I know fires can be fast moving but it's basic safety to be well covered.

He was trying to tell you it's "LO" and behold. Not low !

I want time to go slow. I want to savour every moment. I don't want either of those things wasted in the office.

Time to take control and enjoy my daughter growing up and not wasting it in office with people who care only for themselves....

How does posting daily more on AFF during working hours than others manage in a week after hours, translate to quality time with your child?
I'm glad I don't pay your wages.

I'm surprised that a course I worked at over a summer break ('72/73) is listed, Federal. Put me off golf for life.

Also surprised that a course I actually played(?) at around the same time is listed, Narooma.

Ive told my husband that I will not be a golf widow. He scuba dives, enjoys photography, plays in bands/music... Golf is where I draw the line.
