Hey MEL folk - are there any shower facilities for arr pax with zero lounge access? Did I not read somewhere that the toilets at QF end int arr waiting area has shower facilities? Or was that just another night that Tommy, penegal and myself really tied one on?

According to the website: Public shower facilities are available at Melbourne Airport. Located near the toilet areas on the Departures level of T2 (Qantas Link) near Nando's

So I have just made my first comm booking on QF for like 5-8yrs - MEL-LST/LST-MEL on Sat - long story - but anyways during payment process they ask do I want to contribute a coupla bucks to 'Offset my Carbon Footprint' or sumpin' - didn't really excite so ignored that.

Then when booking completed I ask to 'Print Itinerary' - it prints 6 sheets of paper. I receive email copy of booking - it is 7 pages?

WTF - what's with the 'Carbon Offset' stuff then requiring 3 trees to print your booking?

If I print, I only ever print the first page. The rest is just the Ts and Cs.

Some here would know the Milton Road/Boronia Rd-Park Road intersection. In my opinion a larger sized intersection.

What gets me is seeing cars driving on Boronia Rd towards Park Road and crossing the intersection in front of Milton Road when the lights on Milton Rd have already turned green.

Witnessed it again last night as I was coming home. That car crossed intersection after the light turned red. Must have seen the amber light ~50-100 metres back? Very dangerous. I have seen some pedestrians start to cross when the lights have changed.

I am unhappy with my current home/car insurer.

Any suggestions regarding "tendering" the whole lot (5 policies) to various insurers, or is it just a matter of doing them one by one?

You could always talk to an insurance broker to see if they can get you a better offer.

Not unusual we have that problems here too. I put it down to our fast paced lives.

My boss stood me up for dinner tonight so I went for a walk and found a pub with an open kitchen.

Been here 40 mins and I've been the only customer here the whole time. 5 staff - 3 in the kitchen and 2 at the bar (mgr and bar tender)

Chicken Parma ($21) and 2 pints (2 @ $10) = $41 revenue

They must be struggling... or really busy on other nights.

It's okay... some old guy just came in and went straight to the pokies.

They just quadruped their revenue for the hour...

Im sure SmartTraveller use to ask for flight details but now they dont.

A bit strange, if my plane goes down - how do they know to contact my next of kin?

Edit: I guess my lack of Facebook posting will alert my family that Im dead :)

USA Domestic flight where I didnt use my passport?

Just seems, for all the info Smart Traveller asks, they could also include flight dates and flight numbers - just to cross reference quickly. Im sure it use to include flight numbers.

I am so glad they don't. It's long enough anyway when multiple countries visited. And the manifest might be a hint for them.

Mel Gibson and girlfriend Rosalind Ross welcome baby boy

To risk being unpopular but if my 26yr niece started dating a 61yr man, I would be disgusted... and I dont care how much money or fame he had.

Why do beautiful, young women tie themselves to men that are 35+yrs older than them? No pay off in 10 or 20yrs time can be worth throwing your youth away.

There is no way someone is sliding up to Mick Jagger & Co at a bar because they think, Hmmm - theres a guy I want to spend my life with, if he was the average retired civil servant with a pension.
