Pretty sure no one in our family will be watching Lion. Waaay too close to home. But almost opposite in some ways.

No different to FF pts acquisition for F class travel boomy - the uninitiated and uninformed have ZERO perception of what they are missing! Try to explain it? Nah just giggle inwardly and move on.
If we don't know what we are missing then are we actually missing out on anything?

Accept I may get into trouble here, but after some thought I have decided to post this anyway, in my belief it's not strictly a commercial thing.

My wife is writing a book about the Esperance Tanker Jetty, but the cost to get it published is prohibitive.

So if you like Esperance, or jettys, or general Australiana history, feel free to donate to her fundraising efforts and secure yourself a copy*.

She really cares about this, but there's only so much we can do financially right now. Which is why I am pushing her campaign every where I can online.

*As with all such campaigns, no money is claimed unless the target amount is reached.

I'm sure that at some stage my mother and various other relatives would have stopped here as they travelled by boat from Broome to Perth and round to Adelaide and back again on more than one occassion. I'm happy to put in for a copy.

Productive day. Adel - MEL flight then taxi to Agent to collect keys. Gave up on Uber but taxi to new apartment. Power on - yes - so tested everything and completed inspection report. Some preliminary supplies for MrP coming in tomorrow night, fantastic French bakery and way cheaper than Adelaide. Wine tea milk dinner - Check. Also some hugely popular sushi and Asian restaurants on Swan. Yeah. Back to apartment to tackle connecting NBN. Red light. Persistent. Call up iinet. An hour wait. Sigh. Finally connected. Green light. Check out Netflix on TV. Yep. Seems to be an already functional account on tv. Not ours. Umm. See how long that lasts.

In taxi now to drop off key to MrP at his hotel. Drop off papers to the Agent. Off to airport. Back to Adelaide.

[h=1]Two MPs run up $200,000 tab on private flights to work in Canberra:[/h]In total, since he entered parliament in 2008, Mr Chester has spent $407,000 on charter flights but that includes air travel within Gippsland and more recently flights for ministerial visits.

That was oh so close, who would have thought that they were in with a chance after being 6 for 67. :(

Gosh - the chicken balti at the QP was surprisingly tasty. That's me done for dinner with MrP away. Just need to remember to feed the cat!

Found out the dates and times for our open for inspections from the real estate website. No one bother to notify us or, you know, check that they were suitable. They wont be too happy to find that we have people coming over on the day of the first one and I will be in full prep mode in the kitchen....

What a scummy REA. Put a sign on the door warning that you're having a clothing optional day and that guests are required to leave their clothes at the door. A few coat hangers should enhance the message.

I'm assuming mum was told when they were, but either way no one passed the message along. If I hadn't found them myself things could have been interesting given at 10am on a Saturday we could still be in bed...

Last night saw the movie "Lion" so rare for me to watch a movie other than on a plane, one reason is the 25 minutes of adverts before the movie starts.

While flying on Virgin Australia over the weekend one of the read articles was the Lion book as the movie was based on a true story, not sure how someone can get through a book unless they are doing a lot of flying on VA.

Also how one event can change your whole life, movie worth watching even if you have to wait until you are on a plane.

Lion is a really great film. Dev Patel really nailed the Aussie accent.
I'm not a Nicole Kidman fan but am planning to pay to see this movie ASAP :)

You are so right Cruiser. Friends ask how I can afford to fly J/F on my salary... tried explain how it's done, crunching the numbers putting everything on the table (stuff ppl with little bit ambition can learn on AFF and other free online forums). In the end reaction was "nah it sounds too good to be true, must be a scam. We will keep paying for Y, earning points and redeeming them for more Y like normal ppl". Bahhh
