As an ex public servant I do take a little exception to the last line of the joke. Our section had a lot of interaction with our clients and we went out of our way to provide the highest level of assistance and service. Not all PS can be tarred with the same brush.

Yes I know it's a joke and I know it's not necessarily meant to be correct and I am certainly not upset over the jokes, but it does perpetuate a view held by some (many?) Australians that public servants are lazy/on easy street/do nothing all day etc etc. Most people have no idea of the kind of work that goes on in a department office

BTW - I was a public servant at several stages. I certainly know what work goes on in the two depts I worked for and how much political wrangling went on over office sizes, throw rugs and PC specs.

It's all been forced down our throats right now. Danny is the one going to TKO Mundine plus he's personally behind the Coward's Punch campaign. Kinda weird. One night later and it would be very wet but tonight is amazing weather.

The media as usual then are totally overamping it - assisted by a desperate government backing it as a tourism event. It does mean a bit of business for the casino and CBD tonight I guess.

I think the AFLW match at Princess Park has had more coverage. Even ABC 24 has been light on coverage for the fight.
