The totally off-topic thread

having done business with the Public service for 30 years I can concur. There were some people who were a total waste of space and others who worked very hard and were a joy to deal with. The other thing I found is that Departments (or areas within departments) had characteristics. Some were sloppy and some were good. I assume a bit like a school, where a good principal collects good staff.

And having previously worked in the APS and now in the private sector I see so many similarities. Some really great people in both types of organisations and some absolutely useless coughs as well.

In both types of organisations there are departments people flock to and others people flee from.

I take it you have been over indulging on lettuce, cucumber and watermelon from Woolies so the weight is not dropping as quickly as you hope :)
Nothing to do with Lindt.

Since Nov, nightly dinner has been a salad plate with some boiled eggs, salmon and a bit of hommus. I mix it up with some cheese and beans, tuna, nuts ect but its basically the same.

My husband nearly cried when I gave him fillet steak during the week. He even said, "I get to use a steak knife! Hello, Steak Knife. I havent seen you for a while".

I have been doing very well this week by simply eating less then this afternoon my (horrible) daughter produced biscuits, cheese and dips.

Well, there is your problem right there

How did the Paris machete guy get past the security gate and scan at the first entrance to the louvre and get down the stairs? It's impossible. Or should be.

It sounded like the attack happened in the shopping area downstairs. From memory it is before the security screening.

No - the screening is upstairs in the glass dome. Well, it was 18 months ago. Here:

Round the front where the queues are.

After screening only then do you go down the stairs.
