I think the AFLW match at Princess Park has had more coverage. ...
Looking at the AFLW match I feel like I have walked down to the local footy on Saturday arvo for a watch - the only thing missing is leaning over the fence while sucking on a can of VB.

One or three dominant players showing out between the packs.

Don't get me wrong ... endeavor was there ... Plenty of it ...

I think the AFLW match at Princess Park has had more coverage. Even ABC 24 has been light on coverage for the fight.

Can honestly say that I saw the throw up at the beginning of the match - my daughter was interested for about a minute (she played AFL last year U8 mixed, but not doing it this year as it was U11 girls only and she has enough on with cheerleading and ballet).

i was watching for the lookers

Had a fantastic day today with my Solicitor absolutely KO'ing our neighbours who are being absolute PITA's and not happy with not having control of the legal process we are undertaking. Whilst I feel sorry for him having to have to converse with the wife, he's used to Type A bullies.

To all those in the legal fraternity here, I'm raising a large glass of red for you.

Also amazing in the difference in lighting.
Flipped from the A-League and wondered why the girls where playing under candles.

So have you negotiated a 'retainer'?

We are on acreage and our daughter also requested a horse. Our excuse... we have no idea how to look after a horse, and we wont have an animal that we can't look after properly. Worked for 24 years.
Now, our son & his partner live in the other house on our property and has her horse (Hawthorne) here.
So my son now has the joys of paying for the up-keep of Hawthorne. (she does not work)

I wanted a horse my entire childhood. We always had space as we lived rurally and many of my friends had them. My 3rd birthday present was a horse ride!

Parents always said no. Late teens I finally find out why - I could not keep my room tidy as a kid and this translated to not showing enough responsibility and a horse was a big responsibility. Had I known this my room would have been immaculate!

I would get my fix riding with friends. About 10 years I started riding again out at Maroubra on the headland - a big (16hh) ex racer called Jimmy. Sadly that rising school shut down then the government sold the land :(

I badly want to get back to riding now but lacking a bit of time. One day I will have a horse!

You become immune to that kind of behaviour after a while but nonetheless it is still satisfying when you get one up on the other side.

Came home to find a huge For Sale sign out front. With a big photo of the lounge with photos of us visible in it. Not impressed at all and TomVexille has taped over them.

Yes I know it's a joke and I know it's not necessarily meant to be correct and I am certainly not upset over the jokes, but it does perpetuate a view held by some (many?) Australians that public servants are lazy/on easy street/do nothing all day etc etc. Most people have no idea of the kind of work that goes on in a department office :)

About 10 years ago, I was running a Renewable Energy company and our (emerging) part of the sector were invited to Parlt house in Canberra for a talk fest put on by the DRET (IIRC) where they wanted to hear from the industry participants (about 60 people, 20 companies, private and public) on were we were going, what we wanted from government etc (hint: MONEY!!).

Ministers McFarlane and Trunbull were there (and even then I like to think that I spotted that Trunbull was only really interested in hearing himself talk). But the undoubted guy in charge of the day was a deputy secretary of the department, no older than 40 I think, and from the start he herded the cats, corralled the various opinions and kept the day trim and productive. A couple of us said the same thing - if guys like that were in charge in Canberra, we could be much more confident that our taxes were being if not well spent, then better spent. He went on to head a couple of Federal Departments.

Yes, when they are good they are very, very good.

(Unfortunately he's now wasted as Trunbull's Chief of Staff... he should have stuck to running the bureaucracy.)

I don't think Princess Park had any night games back in the day.

The Whitten Oval hosts a game tomorrow night.

As an ex public servant I do take a little exception to the last line of the joke. Our section had a lot of interaction with our clients and we went out of our way to provide the highest level of assistance and service. Not all PS can be tarred with the same brush.
having done business with the Public service for 30 years I can concur. There were some people who were a total waste of space and others who worked very hard and were a joy to deal with. The other thing I found is that Departments (or areas within departments) had characteristics. Some were sloppy and some were good. I assume a bit like a school, where a good principal collects good staff.

Get a chisel to scratch our images out.

Probably good chance the photos are on the net.

Sounds like a very sloppy agent to allow that to go ahead. Have you contacted them to say you are unhappy or does everything have to go through your mother?

2 offices in Edinburgh and 3 in London, so I guess not ;)
Well that explains it then.

Funny how the person who says open plan offices are productive and personal space at work is not important has an office big enough where I can practice chipping and outting.
