In this case the bank could see that there was jewellery through the US and other things through U.K. There were about 60 different transactions. She was able to ring then without waiting for office hours. Card cancelled naturally.

Was there a blackout in Brisbane around the city in the past 4 days? The microwave is showing 7:54pm which suggests a reset somewhere along the way.

Yes, we had some kind of blip on Monday - the alarm clock got off kilter, but the microwave was fine. The alarm clock seems much more susceptible to small losses of electrical connection.

Out with work colleagues tonight, makes it easier ;) wife will be up here in 2 weeks as has a work trip too so will take her out then!

No work colleagues in the same city for me.

Ended up dining in the hotel bar (was at 21:30 local by the time I finished work, so not many places open). It was quite busy, and a lot of couples.

Some new additions to the collection. Good friend works at Berkelouw Books in Paddington, so scored 40% off.

In life we are faced with many doors in front of us. In order to get to a certain point one needs to pass through the right doors. Random?

No wonder some people get lost.

I just passed through one of those doors, scattered mums ashes this afternoon. It is just over 12 months now and I closed the door behind me.

Some doors shouldn't be left open

Please let me know if the Long Tan book is worthwhile.

The book the movie "We were soldiers once" is based on is a hard to put down one. The general from the incident died on Friday - interesting character.

Another case of "intelligence" being the exact opposite.

If you are determined that your life is about getting to a set point via a set path then you're bound for disappointment as so many factors are out of your control.

I choose to take a path in life that involves taking a leap of faith and opening unknown doors and seeing where they will take me, but always with an end goal in mind. Having this mindset has allowed me to move outside of my comfort zone, take roles outside of a traditional path and all of a sudden, more doors are being put in front of me to choose from.

There are no wrong doors - just experiences that can be learned from.

Not quite.

We choose the path we take yet we are presented with the same choices regardless of the path chosen.

We are the constant in our lives. The choices are also a constant. The path we take is variable.

To a lot of people it may sound like I am a negative person. Far from it. I don't accept what's in front of me. Some of the challenges are difficult but I'm constantly looking for answers. I'm just not certain whether we'll ever find the things we are searching for. Some things are always just out of reach althiugh the clues are in front of us. Need to look harder.

The truth will set you free?

Went to see a film last night. First time in ages. La La Land. Was quite good, but not sure it stuck the landing. Throwback to the good old fashioned musical. Definitely recommend it.
spacebar

My friend hated it but she hates musicals. Why she went, no idea.

We saw Hidden Figures on the weekend and really enjoyed it so two thumbs up from me. Looking forward to standing at Mr MLKs grave next month and no doubt, will cry like a baby.

House inspection while we were at work yesterday. Someone decided to poke around in the clothes dryer which I find utterly confusing given its an appliance that isnt part of the house....

Weird people out there. Which probably doesn't help you much. :o

That's plain weird and I would be understandably annoyed .Perhaps a word to the agent about what is acceptable e.g people open built in cupboards to see storage but poking in anything that isn't part of the sale is no

I heard someone taking photos in our bedroom the other day, so lots of weirdos. But cant do much to stop them given the agent stands out the front rather than inside.

I think that makes sense though as you don't remember the details. I reckon we did that :o

Queen Mary 2 in Adelaide today. A nice sunny 28 degrees makes for great shore excursions into Cleland or Barossa Valley. It's normally like a furnace in Adelaide in February. I'm thinking of popping down to Semaphore for a long distance look and photo to check out the power of my super zoom.

I would discuss with the real estate agent what are "fixtures" and what is not. If personal property is affixed or fastened to real estate then it could potentially be a fixture (and the future buyer might have been checking it out as they think it might be theirs). When I purchased my house the owners had removed the dryer from the wall and had it sitting on the floor and the real estate agent was very direct in advising that it was not being sold with the house. On the other hand a wooden cabinet that was built for a certain spot in my home I negotiated to keep from the seller as it was built to fit that space but was not affixed or fastened to the building.
