-- edit. Have managed to trick my preferred website into multi-city booking it, so price is back where I want it to be.

Does help to know the various tricks of the trade!

Don't tell me you've opened like 6-12 different travel booking sites (including the airline's booking portal) trying to lock in a seat?

Truth be told I never thought of that approach. I just don't like those other booking portals (esp. something like Webjet that charges the compulsory $18.00 or whatever booking fee; most of the travel agents associated with credit cards, e.g. CBA Awards Travel, charge a fee of something like $10 to book. Still, better than $25.00 with QF from Australia )

-- Edit again.
The stupid thing is that the first booking actually got to the stage of an e-ticket being created. It's visible in my Qantas account. Didn't realise until I just checked then. I didn't pay for the ticket, so I'd expect it to fall through pretty quickly.

Wouldn't it be wiser calling QF as soon as your other e-ticket is issued and looking at that being erased as soon as possible?

This got me wondering how much I'd managed to fly on my trip (which I must admit was a little insane) .. turns out I flew 41.5k BIS miles over three weeks :p

Puts my 23307 BIS miles in 2 weeks to shame, although i've done it twice this year (23240 in March and 23307 in October, both under 2 weeks).

I guess i'm just not trying hard enough to keep up :P

Didn't you make a run to Florida in that trip Nov 2007; ...
:oops:Oops, I forgot about my little day trip BOS to MCO via MIA ...

You are quite correct!

Let me vent about my recent flight.

I managed to ODU, hooray; but that's where the goodness stopped! Sitting in 1D, I managed to be served last for both pre lunch drinks, and the meal also. J was only half full, but I still missed out on my choice of meal. No worries.... I mentioned to the CSM this was the 3rd time in a row it has happened in J and he offered me a bottle of white wine from the J cupboard, a very nice gesture.

Imagine my surprise when I land.... that all the J tagged bags actually came off first, and circled around and around for 5-10 minutes before any other bag! That's odd, every J passenger but myself has their bag... hm.... OK. So anyway, I waited, and right near the end my bag came out; and had no QP (which I get as a minimum) tags, let alone J!

A nice gesture indeed, but how the hell do you sit row 1 and not get your meal choice, let alone being served last.

The last time I checked QF never serve from back to front; we don't have some wierd FEBO system going that they do in LOTFAP.

Firstly, J tags came off first?! I assume this is PER - in which case, OMG.

Heh heh heh... not so fast. No points for the 5-10 minute gap in unloading, however.

If you ODU'ed I assume your tags wouldn't change. Looks like the people at the outward port forgot to give you an orange tag on your bag. Bummer!

I ODU'd at the check-in counter (only way at this airport) so she knew I was flying J  I even asked her to make sure they were on... c'est la vie!

After the 5 minute gap ........ SHOCK! Priority tags came out! Seemed to be the majority of them...... then other bags, and mine came out

Maybe she resented you reminding her (even if it was done in a nice way) how to do her job.

Quick question.....

I received a letter today saying that I have not used my cheque book in over a year and if I do not write a cheque that is prsented before the end of February the credit union will cancel my cheque book. I was thinking of writing myself a cheque for 1 cent and putting it in one of my other bank accounts. I'm fairly certain that a cheque can be for as little as 1 cent but just wanting to double check.

Thank you!

Why not simply make it a dollar and be done with it :?:

Speaking of cheques, I recently received a letter from CBA. I had a CBA Streamline Access account which I only opened because I was told (when I applied) that in order to get my CBA credit card fee waived, I needed to have a CBA bank account (also fee free due to my being a full-time student). Otherwise, I haven't used the account (my savings are with Suncorp).

Seeing as I haven't made a deposit to the account in over a year, CBA closed the account and then sent me a cheque for the closing balance of the account.

The check was made out to me for the total sum of zero dollars and three cents.

Woo hoo

So, did you bank it?

I don't know. Maybe I should save it for a rainy day.

Nah, haven't got around to it. Probably should do something before the cheque goes stale. But that takes around six months.
