We have 58 to place if we vote below the line for the Upper House in our west coast election. That number should ensure many will vote above the line. I plan to vote below the line.

I love voting below the line in QLD federal Senate. Some 108 as I remember. First find Brandis and put him 108 then work backwards. Gives one a small sense of empowerment, although useless in reality.:)

Really pi***s me off when the unrepresentative swill talk about 'their' preferences. They are mine not theirs to give nor the party's.

Well TheRealTMA you've lost that loving feeling ......
In our 58 we have some real tossers who are hard to separate in last, second last, third last up to 58th last.

LOL. No one said democracy was easy! :) And one has to have some incentive to go to the polls apart from the sausage sizzle and hamper raffle!

Look at this list of gold plated affiliations:

  • Socialist Alliance
  • Pauline Hanson's One Nation
  • Flux The System!
  • Daylight Saving Party
  • FLUORIDE FREE WA
  • Micro Business Party
  • Independent
  • WA Labor
  • Independent
  • Shooters, Fishers and Farmers
  • Australian Christians
  • Liberal Democrats
  • The Greens (WA)
  • Independent
  • Animal Justice Party
  • Julie Matheson for Western Australia
  • Liberal Party
  • Family First
  • Independent

I was disappointed to get to the bottom of this list and not have been offered a chance to vote for the Silly Party's candidate Tarquin Fin-Tim-Lim-Bim-Whin-Bim-Lim-Bus-Stop-F'tang-F'tang-Ole'-Biscuit-barrel.

That'll be a write-in on Saturday then...

If you don't vote in Federal and State elections you can be fined. It is only local Government where voting is not compulsory.

I have a list on how to vote those 58 slots in the WA election. The Flux ones are 55th and 56th and they are beaten out of last places by a couple of independents. I had thought the Flux ones could make it to the bottom but they just miss out.

With the ACT first self-government election, we had the Sun Ripened Warm Tomato Party, and The Party Party Party Party. Those were the days.

This is why I love postal voting. Gives you the proper time to vote.

Plus I love poison pilling my vote. Usually I don't like the First or Second choice for the party I vote for in upper house as they are normally the choice of the dominant faction.

I mix it up, so they are forced to direct that vote to my candidate and not some politic hack or some preference deal.

Also compulsory to vote for local government in in Victoria.

I had to do a please explain for being overseas when voting was underway in 2016.

Yes we both had to vote in Victoria's local government election.
We did postal votes.
Actually I do like a good scandal so I will be reading up on those 2 Victorian State members who are suspected of dipping into the tin on living allowances.
I actually think any politician who is proven to be a thief from any Government should no longer be a politician as well as some jail time would seem appropriate. That is after they are forced to pay the money back.

It's funny how Rupert Rags concentrate on these bad apples but completely ignore the brazen corruption of the opposition leader Matthew Guy who when as planning minister approved the rezoning of Fishermans bend so the Liberal donors made a fortune.

At least you have an Upper House, we got rid of ours 95 years ago.

Cove, surely the fluoride free or one nation fools were bottom? I'll have to look up the flux people now, to see why there were so bad. This election had no one I wanted top, so greens came out ahead on both.

Hadn't realized something was missing in Queensland. Only 95 years without a house of review. Probably makes your State much easier to govern.
Just imagine if we had 4 year terms in Federal Government....of course we should but we have had so many dud prime ministers it will be hard to change our Constitution.
Have to remember to vote on Saturday in Perth then we fly out Sunday.
Fluoride free are not quite at the bottom but you could consider it. Flux are the .....Guess or read about them yourselves.
Now 2.5 million into $40 billion of debt is how much each? If the GST carve up isn't fixed within 4 years we will be in that much debt.

Now remind me if I have this wrong - but wasn't it like only yesterday at the peak of the resources boom that Barnett was wanting to secede cause there was too much in royalties flowing out of WA? Now you Sandgropers are sooking about not getting your fair share of the GST pie? Or have I been spending way too much time o/s?
