Also heard to stop candidates getting elected by a party and then becoming independents One nation get their candidates to sign a contract with a 250k pay back to the party if they leave .... I

Good luck trying to enforce that. Ha ha.

Book of Mormon without a doubt - damn funny and very up PC.

Hamilton - tickets are not easy to come by generally. They recently released them for Nov 17 - March 18. Demand may have dropped slightly given its opened in Chicago etc and because Lin Manual Miranda has moved on from it.

If you're in a city where Hedwig and the Angry Inch is touring then I'd recommend seeing that.

Avenue Q is a bit of fun.

Kinky Boots gets good reviews.

So Broadway.... Hamilton, Book of Mormon, or ???

I saw Book of Mormon on Broadway last October and loved it. As another poster noted maybe see Hamilton because it is unlikely to come to Australia.

But whatever you do make sure you see a show. It is a part of the whole experience of travelling.

Both! I suggest.

Saw BOM in Toronto two years ago. Absolutely brilliant. Looking fwd to Hamilton.

Couldn't get tickets in Melbourne so thinking of going to BOM again in London in May.

Trying to load Hotmail on Samsung and getting the message "Your connection is not private" and it won't let me load my emails.

I have been able to override before but can't seem to do it now. Any clues?

Thanks everyone. The decision came down to Hamilton (I wanted BOM) geez, pretty stiff price for four tickets!

Last NYC visit we saw Hamilton, Billy Joel and School Of Rock. We used the Marriott Marquis ticket office and 2 great tickets to Hamilton totalled about $480 USD. The queue to get into the show was right outside the hotel door.
Suggest you look up what is on at Madison Square Garden when you are there.
We want to see Waitress the Musical.

With the ACT first self-government election, we had the Sun Ripened Warm Tomato Party, and The Party Party Party Party. Those were the days.
that was after they had a referendum to see whether we wanted self-government - people overwhelming voted no, so they went ahead anyway because they were going to force us to be free. And what a bunch of (ever increasing) wallies we have ended up with!

Spacebar
Waitress. I'm sure I'll never see it but I have the CD. The musical was written by one of my favourite female artists in Sara Bareilles. She's fantastic. Hope she comes back to Oz sometime soon.

We had NY - Chicago Bulls tickets for Madison Gardens a few years ago and were very excited. Got an email the day before saying MG had to be closed that night for Asbestos inspection. Brilliant. Closed it for only that night and only in NYC for a couple of days. Murphy's Law. See JohnK - stuff happens to everyone.

How is that hospital building in Adelaide going? Will it need a bit more of WA's GST to finish it within the next decade?

Well, it was to open last year and then delayed until November because it might be flu season. Of course November has long gone and it's still not open. No date yet. I don't think they can afford to operate it once it's started. Seriously.

Apparently they've built it so that if patients in some wards need to have an MRI there is no walkable route and they have to be driven across by ambulance. So we need an in-hospital ambulance scheme. And in the meantime our old RAH (where I had to stay 12 months ago) is appalling and running out of basic items as maintenance not being done on a place that will be closed.

If project management is pushing out products like these, then I fear for the future of the human race.

Either that or there's rampant corruption that no one wants to talk about.

We've heard this story before...

Pretty sure there's plenty of that. Govt cited that building regulations weren't adhered to and started legal proceedings so the building couldn't be handed over. Except. The Govt had signed off on them in the contract and they had adhered to Australian standards. So the Minister puffed his chest out and said pretty damning things about the builders. 6 months later - and somehow they had 'settled' their dispute. How? They didn't change the buildings. And no mention of monies. I suspect the cashed up builders lawyers told the Govt to take a hike.

And let's not talk about the underway bus bridge project that saves 3 minutes from a trip north. Only later did they reveal the bus stop will be further away so there goes the 3 minutes. Our take is that they wanted a project for the CFMEU to give employment and have completely butchered our parklands in the process.

I love voting below the line in QLD federal Senate. Some 108 as I remember. First find Brandis and put him 108 then work backwards. Gives one a small sense of empowerment, although useless in reality.:)

Really pi***s me off when the unrepresentative swill talk about 'their' preferences. They are mine not theirs to give nor the party's.

I do the same - but it's someone else who gets my last vote. On a few occasions, there have been contenders for the penultimate, third last, etc.
