Oh dear that would have been terrible. I know it can happen but things like that, where private/sensitive information is included should have extra care taken. I must admit although I have not sent messages to a full mailing list like that, I have been guilty of the odd spelling mistake.

Friend once had a email that was CC'd (not BCC) to all people who had been to a particular work psychologist. From memory they were advertising a new program but don't think they had many takers after they demonstrated how they protected people's contact details

I've had a few suppliers etc do that. They get a reminder re the bcc function from me.

I worked with people in the PS who did not know about BCC -either messages would go out to everyone or they would copy and past the message for each person individually.

The BCC function is rather hidden in office outlook software these days.

I may have worked with a multi national company once where the new accountant emailed all of the Japanese staff with everyone's pay rates - they changed it shortly afterwards so not everyone could email all countries

Office 365 is a design disaster. Everything is hidden. Takes another 2-3 keystrokes/ mouse clicks to do the most basic of actions. It's (mostly) all there but takes ages to find not oft use functions.

Probably done by those pissed off developers who are still wondering why few bought into windows 8.

This is what breaks me into a cold sweat, when sending payroll reports.

I check 3, 6 times before I hit the send button.

Last day of holidays today, road trip to Ventura highway to shop and then rest, shower and board flight home.

So far, great trip. Been super sensitive to resting and not getting sick and it's worked so far.

Usually I'm ready to get back to work but not feeling it this time. I've been working an hour or two every couple of days so other than the huge project announcement im prepared for, no surprises I hope.

OTOH I bought win8 as an upgrade to XP as I had heard interesting comments about Win10...

Happy wandering

Fred

PS I still have one on XP

Yes, but easy to access and once added it stays there. My colleagues didn't know the option even existed. :)

And XP was great IMO. Pity it got enhanced.

On the dumb emails, we had a business manager who sent a whole quote from a business as an attachment to a competitor that had requested further information.

It's bloody awful.

We have someone who loves the "reply all" function; they used it to reply to my ooops email so that everyone now knows the new person in their group. We also get it when they cant attend a meeting etc

Groan. Having a battle with that at the moment. People use it as a CYA.

We had one marketing person - completely incompetent - who would cc everyone when she was wishing someone happy birthday. Plus every other thing that entered her vacuous head. I shared a birthday with another one of the Directors. He got the Happy Birthday email, copied to everyone, and I didn't yet we both worked with her. So she couldn't even get that right.

Currently on a very active roll call for a cruise to the Baltics in July. Every day and sometimes more 56 different emails listed in my inbox on things I don't need to know. Like 'happy spring'.

I hate the thank you emails.

You asked, I responded. Don't send me a thank you.

Unless you have a follow up query, I'll assume you are happy with the response and all is good in the world.

If someone has gone to a lot of work I'll thank them.

Walked 'home' from MCG last night. Cannot believe how close we live to it.

Secondary security including very invasive pat down that went to places that made me wonder if I should give her $20 as a thank you afterwards.

Would hate my teenage daughter to go through that.
