The totally off-topic thread

I've just started using PT and compared with Adelaide it's a beauty - at least from where I live. Just a few snaffus - we board at Richmond and silly me for not realising the city loop ran all day from that station - and sitting pretty at Flinders street waiting to move forward only to end up back at Richmond - it works for us.

But Maps suck at working out both your tram and train stations.

Have you got the Vic PT app? I have used it when down there; not bad to work out times etc.

Off to get the app.

Terrorist acts are so easy to commit these days. Nothing special needed.

That's unfortunate; maybe it doesn't work all that well. As an inter-stater I found it useful as otherwise I had no idea on what tram to catch.

I dont think it helps that the train and tram are scheduled to depart at the same time. Tram pax cant make the train, and train pax cannot make the tram...

Suspected terror attack currently - although not currently clear. News on BBC: Parliament shooting - latest updates - BBC News

Mrs Flashback works in Westminster and is currently in lock down so unable to leave the building.
Very sad news - seems to be a constant. These people are not warriors in any cause just cowards. So easy to mow down unsuspecting civilians when you don't have the guts to go and fight.

Except they seem to be prepared to die. And when that happens happens it's impossible to stop.

easy enough to be filled with hatred and brain washed to die and use a car to mow down people. I could probably even do it. Whole different thing to be a real soldier. These people are the dregs.

Having one of "those" days where you accidentally send an email to an entire mailing list. First time in all my years of administration, and I happened to start it off with "dubm question, but...".
Upside: three people sent me the answer

Which reminds me:

1. Dropped by the BC / Tommy chalet last night to pick up some wine they have been babysitting for me - tks BC and Tommy - BTW kids - box feels a little light - I did check 3 botts on top layer - should I have checked bottom layer also?

2. BC I have my #1 man in a trade show in Taipei right now - I am conducting simultaneous chats with him and one of our suppliers on WeChat - I just posted something in the wrong thread that really REALLY REALLY should not be seen by the wrong party - such is life huh

it happens to everyone :). An admin person at Dr FM's hospital accidentally attached a list to an email sent out to staff that had the results of all the registrars on it in the recent RACP exam - including those who had failed. Very embarrassing all round - but human to err.

oh dear, that is an awkward one. At least I was only asking a realtively minor question.

Oh dear that would have been terrible. I know it can happen but things like that, where private/sensitive information is included should have extra care taken. I must admit although I have not sent messages to a full mailing list like that, I have been guilty of the odd spelling mistake.

Friend once had a email that was CC'd (not BCC) to all people who had been to a particular work psychologist. From memory they were advertising a new program but don't think they had many takers after they demonstrated how they protected people's contact details

Another fatal trap is picking up the wrong email address. I once received an email from a psychologist - she thought she was sending it to her PA, who had the same first name as me and it had very detailed information on a number of her patients. I immediately deleted it and emailed her to let her know.
