Cathay Pacific gives Marco Polo members a free upgrade on their birthday. One cabin upgrade, subject to availability. I know plenty who take advantage of it, even for ultra long haul.

I just happen to be flying J with Cathay on my birthday in a couple of weeks with SWMBO.
Do you know if the upgrade (if available) would only apply to me, or would it be for both pax?

Fixed speed cameras that are on 4 lane freeway.... If you are passed by a bike/car at excessive speed 120-150kms+ can the camera miss them and you get caught as the victim?
Does the road detect the speed or a laser from camera?

I was thwarted on a third when my flight was delayed and left after midnight.

WA Revenue Collection.. er, Police, claim that their cameras can track multiple targets, and book one or both as the case may be. I'd assume it's the same there.

Was on a SQ flight a couple of years ago for my birthday - heading to JNB. Mid flight asked for a snack and thought it odd they referred to me by name and knew my seat number (I went to the galley) and instead they bought a birthday cake and 4 mimosas!

A couple of days later, our lodge in the Kruger made me a lovely big cake that we had pre game drive with the 6 other guests.

Last birthday I was in the Marriott in Lima and they left me a lovely plate of chocolates in the room.
