Actually Tassie does legally grow poppies for pharmaceutical purposes.

More fool me for not looking at the next page .Yes these are opium poppies.I believe over a 1000 hectares of them here and it is definitely all legal.there was a paddock of dairy cows next to this crop.Couldn't help wondering what would happen if one put her head over the fence and had a nibble-might make an interesting milkshake.:shock:

I believe over a 1000 hectares of them here and it is definitely all legal.

There’s actually abut 16000 hectares, and Tassie is the only state they’re grown commercially in.

So can anyone recognise one of the major cash crops of the devonport area-

I could have sworn they were cotton plants but obviously I was wrong. I should know what opium poppies look like as I used to see them in the mountains in Northern Greece where I grew up....
